Federal government contractors who bill on cost-reimbursable contracts must allocate indirect costs across contracts using structured rates for fringe, overhead, and G&A. This article explains how those rates are calculated, why they shift over time, and how inaccurate rate assumptions can affect proposal pricing, contract margins, and interim billing. Whether you are building a rate structure for the first time or questioning whether your current one still fits your business, this guide walks through the key mechanics and what to watch for. https://bit.ly/4sca0Yy

Q4 tax planning is not a single deadline; it’s a series of decisions that each have their own timing. Some strategies require lead time to execute, others depend on an updated year-end forecast, and some work can legitimately carry into the new year. Knowing which category each decision falls into is what separates effective fourth quarter planning from a last-minute scramble in December. https://bit.ly/47I9KqO

What do you get when four GYL team members, a room full of accounting students, and a whole lot of questions come together? A pretty great night.

Adam Francis, Joshua Abeyta, Som Sonenarong, and Ashlyn Simard joined the University of La Verne’s Meet the Firms event last night and had the chance to talk with students about everything from public accounting and career paths to what working at a CPA firm is actually like.

No rehearsed sales pitch—just real conversations, real experiences, and plenty of questions.

A big thank you to the University of La Verne for hosting us and to all the students who stopped by to chat.

Today, we walk with purpose. 🎀

We’re proud to recognize team member Ashlyn Simard, who participated in the 19th Annual Believe Walk in Downtown Redlands! The event celebrates cancer survivors, supports fighters and thrivers, and raises funds to advance cancer care and support services.

Together, we continue to raise awareness, support those in the fight, and celebrate survivors. Every step counts. Every story matters. Every person makes a difference. 🩷✨

Another great night at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly)'s Annual Meet the Firms.

Our GYL team had a wonderful time connecting with students, sharing their experiences, answering questions, and giving them a glimpse into what a career at GYL can look like.

Events like these are always exciting because we get to meet so many eager and motivated accounting students who are ready to learn, grow, and explore their future careers. Seeing the next generation of accounting professionals brings a lot of excitement for what’s ahead — they truly are the future of our profession!

A big thank you to Sarah Pacheco, Jessica Martinez, Brianna Victoria, Nathan Vaidyanathan, and Ashlyn Simard for representing GYL and helping make the evening a success! Cal Poly Pomona

Jessica Martinez, Juan Leon, Brianna Victoria, Ashlyn Simard and Miguel Vivero represented GYL at California State University-San Bernardino’s (CSUSB) 45th Annual Meet the Firms.

We had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with many talented, enthusiastic, and well-prepared students who presented themselves with professionalism and confidence. It was an absolute pleasure connecting with each of them and learning more about their experiences, goals, and aspirations.
