For a long time, I believed being a good leader meant staying on top of every detail, reviewing every process, and always having all the answers.
But trying to control everything doesn’t strengthen a business. Many times, it limits it.
Leadership also means learning to delegate, trusting your team, and allowing others to develop their talents. It means creating a clear vision, building systems, and providing direction without believing everything depends solely on you.
It wasn’t an easy lesson. Letting go of control also requires confronting your fears, your perfectionism, and the belief that no one will ever do it exactly like you.
But a business that only works when you are present doesn’t give you freedom. It makes you the center of every process.
Today, I understand that leadership isn’t about doing everything yourself. It’s about building a team that can move forward with you, even when you’re not supervising every step.
Because growth also requires trust. 🤍
What has been harder for you: delegating or letting go of control?
