💡 A recent example of why experience in accounting matters...

One of my clients had a recurring charge from LinkedIn for nearly $2,000. 💳

At first glance, it didn't look alarming - businesses use LinkedIn all the time.

However, because I'm familiar with my client's business and spending patterns, I asked about it. 👀

They had no idea the charge was coming.

After contacting LinkedIn, they were able to have the charge refunded. ✅

This is one of the biggest differences between simply categorizing transactions and actually reviewing your books.

Quick reminder that not all sales tax reports (or accountants!) are created equal… 🔍

My client remits their own sales taxes on a monthly basis using Jobber, their third party platform. As I was reconciling their payments, I found that the numbers weren’t lining up.

After digging in, I found:
• Jobber taxes deposits when received
• QuickBooks taxes them when applied to invoices

In Florida, tax is due when the work is performed, and that timing difference matters — especially for cash flow 💰

As I transition them from using Jobber reports to QuickBooks for sales tax purposes, I've prepared a detailed reconciliation to ensure amounts already remitted aren’t picked up again.

This is an example of the high level accounting analysis that I perform for all of my clients as part of my accounting services. 📊
