Donating to a charity? Incredibly good thing. Getting a tax write-off for it? The cherry on top. 🍒
Here's the new part: starting with your 2026 return, the charitable deduction isn't just for people who itemize anymore. If you take the standard deduction (that's most of our clients), you may be able to deduct donations that are:
→ Paid in cash — check and card count
→ Made to a qualifying charity
→ Up to $1,000, or $2,000 if you file jointly
One catch: donating clothes, furniture or other items doesn't count toward this one. Cash only.
So give generously, keep the receipts, and bring them with you in the spring — we'll make sure the cherry lands on your return. English y español. 🤗🏰
