🌀 Tropical Storm Isaias: What Volusia & Flagler Need to Know

Isaias is strengthening in the Gulf and is expected to make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast late Friday or early Saturday. Our area is NOT in the direct path, but we're not off the hook.

What to expect here: Heavy rain through the weekend, with some coastal areas possibly seeing 6–8 inches. The ground is already soaked, so low-lying streets and yards can flood quickly.

What to do now:
✅ Clear gutters, drains, and loose yard items
✅ Check your hurricane kit (water, meds, batteries, chargers)
✅ Take photos/video of your home and belongings. It makes any claim easier.
✅ Know where your policy documents are

Insurance reminder: Once a storm watch or warning is issued, carriers typically freeze new policies and coverage changes. And flood insurance generally has a 30-day waiting period. If you've been meaning to review your coverage, now is the time, not when the next storm is at the door.

Our O’Quinn Insurance team had the opportunity to attend the Women Build Volunteer Kick-Off with the Women’s Council of REALTORS® Daytona Beach Area and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Volusia County—and this one was especially meaningful to us.

The home featured at the event was built for one of our very own team members, Samantha! 💙 We loved getting to come together, celebrate her and her new home, and support an organization doing such incredible work right here in our community.
