Tax Season Is Here — Big Changes for 2025!

The 2025 tax season brings several important updates that could mean bigger deductions and more savings for you. Working with a qualified tax professional helps ensure you don’t miss out on these new benefits.

Here are some key changes for 2025:

Increased SALT Deduction Limit
The State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap increases from $10,000 to $40,000. This includes state income tax withholdings, property taxes, and personal property taxes (itemized deductions).

Car Loan Interest Deduction
Deduct up to $10,000 of interest on vehicle loans for cars purchased after 2024 and assembled in the United States.
AGI limits: $100,000 (single) / $200,000 (married filing jointly).
This deduction is separate from itemized deductions.

Deduction for Tip Income
Up to $25,000 in tip income may be deducted for workers in occupations that regularly receive tips.

Deduction for Overtime Pay
Deduct up to $12,500 (single) or $25,000 (joint) for overtime pay earned after 40 hours per week and paid at time-and-a-half under federal law.

Additional Senior Deduction
Taxpayers age 65 and older may qualify for an extra $6,000 deduction.
AGI limits: $75,000 (single) / $150,000 (joint).
