FinCEN has reacted to the stay of the injunction:
Reporting companies that were created or registered prior to January 1, 2024 have until January 13, 2025 to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN. (These companies would otherwise have been required to report by January 1, 2025.)
Reporting companies created or registered in the United States on or after September 4, 2024 that had a filing deadline between December 3, 2024 and December 23, 2024 have until January 13, 2025 to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN.
Reporting companies created or registered in the United States on or after December 3, 2024 and on or before December 23, 2024 have an additional 21 days from their original filing deadline to file their initial beneficial ownership information reports with FinCEN.

Tax Season is well underway and unfortunately, our schedules are completely booked. We apologize to those of you who are wanting to have an in-person appointment and are not able to make one; however, we do offer drop off service as we prepare those returns early in the morning and after evening appointments. Currently our turnaround time on drop offs are 24-48 hours. We do realize that a lot of you have been with us for many years, but our appointments have always been first come first serve. As always, we do appreciate the many years of continued support for our business.

Just an update on 1099-K reporting for those of you who earn money on Venmo, Zelle, etc. IRS has pushed the date back again for those to be mandated to 2024; furthermore, they are going to phase in the amounts. What this means is in 2024 you can earn up to $5000 before a 1099-K is issued. This does not mean that you don't have to report your income because the law states any money earned should be claimed and that is the responsibility of the taxpayer.

A new report, by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), says the IRS placed 'deceased locks' on accounts of more than 90,000 taxpayers who were very much alive. The IRS incorrectly locked thousands of taxpayer accounts because the agency thought the taxpayers had died.

Please be advised, there are a lot of immigrants coming into the country getting ITINS. ITINS cannot be used for work purposes, they must have a social security number!

Please keep in mind that we do not give automatic extensions, so if you or anyone you know needs one, please call our office so we can get that e-filed for you. Not filing an extension will get you a late payment penalty.
