Why does bookkeeping matter?

1. Bookkeeping helps you catch more tax deductions:

Know the up-to-date income and expenses for your business. Does it make sense for you to make a large purchase this calendar year or should you wait? Are you correctly tracking payments to sub-contractors and issuing 1099s? These are questions you will be able to answer with good bookkeeping.

2. Bookkeeping can help you catch financial mistakes:

Did you pay your invoice twice? Did you accidentally use your business card for personal expense? Keep your finances organized so that you have an easy way to double check transactions.

3. Bookkeeping gives a clear picture that shows where your money is going and where it came from:

Some business activities may be more profitable than others. Some business practices may be using more of your capital than you’d like. Either way, you need bookkeeping to help you understand the financial flow of your business.
