Most people think tax strategy means finding more deductions at tax time. It’s actually much more proactive than that. 👀

Tax preparation looks backward: What did you earn? What did you spend? What do you owe?

Tax strategy looks forward: How is your business structured? How are you paying yourself? Are you planning for estimated taxes? Are there legitimate deductions or planning opportunities you should be considering before year-end?

Once the year is over, many of those decisions have already been made.

I’ve learned that pouring everything I have into my business doesn’t automatically make me better at it.

To show up at my best for my team, my clients, and the businesses I’ve built, I have to make time to pour back into myself, too.

Bodybuilding has taught me so much about that. It’s something I’m genuinely passionate about, but it also requires discipline, consistency, patience, and knowing when to push and when to recover, a lot of the same lessons I’ve carried into my career.

Over the years, I’ve learned how to balance that passion with building a successful accounting firm and continuing to reinvest in my businesses and my future.

If you filed an extension for your individual 2025 tax return, October 15, 2026 is generally your filing deadline.

And remember: an extension to file was not an extension to pay. If you still owe, waiting longer can mean additional interest and penalties.
