Extension Request & April 15th Deadline:
The returns I have possession of will get an automatic extension, but if you’re a prior season client, & need an extension, please private message me with that request. ⬇️
Please read over the disclosure below & inform me of any other information that applies to your tax situation & your extension request.
Disclosure:
I will assume an extension only for the Fed & State of AR unless you inform me of additional states.
Filing an extension gives you more time to file your tax return, but not more time to pay.
If you end up owing taxes, interest starts building from April 15 and continues until the balance is paid, whether you file on time or file under an extension.
Because of this, people who expect to owe often estimate what they’ll owe and send a payment with their extension. If they overpay, the extra is refunded once the return is completed.
You are not required to make a payment with your extension, but it can help reduce interest and possible penalties.
Payments can be made directly from your bank account. If you’d like to include a payment with your extension, just let me know the amount & verify your banking information with me.
An extension does help you avoid the “failure-to-file” penalty, which is usually the larger penalty.
The deadline to file an extended return is October 15.
You can also reply to the email that will be sent out this morning.
Thank you 😊
