If I could give my younger self one financial lesson, it would be to focus less on cutting every expense and more on making sure my spending aligned with my values.

Financial planning isn't about avoiding every purchase. It's about making intentional decisions that support the life you want to build. What's one financial lesson you wish you had learned sooner?

A little over 3 weeks ago, we welcomed our son, Teo Sierra, into the world!

Since becoming a mom for the second time, I’ve found myself reflecting on how quickly life can change.

One moment you’re planning, preparing, and wondering what this next chapter will look like. The next, you’re holding a tiny human who instantly reshapes your priorities, your perspective, and your heart.

As a financial planner, I spend my days helping women think about the future. We talk about retirement, investments, taxes, insurance, and building wealth. But sitting here in the newborn haze, I’m reminded that the purpose behind all of that planning is much simpler:

It’s about creating a life that allows us to be present for what matters most.

It’s about having the flexibility to take maternity leave without financial stress. It’s about knowing your family is protected if life doesn’t go according to plan. It’s about making intentional decisions so that when these precious moments arrive, you have the freedom to fully experience them.

So many of the women I work with are carrying an incredible amount of responsibility. They’re building businesses, leading teams, caring for children, supporting aging parents, and pursuing their own goals. I see you.

And if there’s one thing motherhood continues to teach me, it’s that asking for support, creating a plan, and giving yourself permission to slow down aren’t signs of weakness. They’re acts of wisdom.

For now, I’m soaking in the newborn cuddles, watching Frankie become the sweetest big sister, and feeling deeply grateful for this season of life.

Welcome to the world, Teo. Thank you for reminding me what truly matters. 💙

Retirement planning looks different for everyone, but the questions are often the same.

Many people wonder whether they're on track to retire, when they should begin claiming Social Security, and how to prepare for the possibility of long-term care expenses. While these are common concerns, the right answers are unique to each person's financial situation and long-term goals.

A personalized retirement plan can help bring clarity and confidence to these important decisions.

What's the biggest retirement question on your mind right now? Share it in the comments, and we may feature it in a future post.

The best financial planning outcomes aren’t always dramatic. Sometimes they look like small intentional steps in the right direction.

Recently, Brandon helped a client navigate open enrollment and sort through a long list of benefits options. By focusing on what truly mattered and cutting through the noise, they walked away with more confidence and a clearer path forward.

Feeling overwhelmed by financial decisions? You're not alone.

Most financial progress doesn’t come from dramatic changes.

It comes from small, intentional decisions repeated over time.

The way you name an account. The one number you consistently track. The plan you have for slower months. The quick weekly check-in that keeps you connected to your goals.

Small details often create the biggest results.

Which one of these are you already doing?

Starting a family has a way of changing your perspective.

From personal experience, we've seen how quickly financial priorities can evolve when other people begin depending on you. Questions about protection, stability, and long-term planning naturally take on a greater importance.

If you've recently welcomed a child or are navigating a new stage of family life, your financial plan may need to evolve as well. We'd be happy to help you think through those changes and build a strategy that supports your family's future.

Last week, the team attended our monthly luncheon for the Financial Planning Association of San Gabriel Valley.

In addition to a delicious lunch and some great networking, we learned all about 1031 exchanges and Delaware Statutory Trusts. Thanks to Jason Hayes from Cantor Fitzgerald for the fantastic presentation!

Let us know if you want to get more involved with FPA, or if you want to talk more about 1031s or DSTs!

How do I buy a home?
Should I focus on paying off debt or saving for retirement?
Am I behind compared to others?
