Last week, Marc spent two days on Capitol Hill.

The good news? Nobody asked him to run for office.

Instead, he joined a group of advisors from across the country to advocate for something that's important to all of us: protecting access to financial advice for the individuals and families who rely on it.

It was an educational, productive, and eye-opening experience, and a reminder that good financial planning doesn't just happen in offices and conference rooms. Sometimes the conversation takes you to Washington.

Have the last few years spoiled us a little?

After a strong run in the markets, it's easy to start thinking double-digit returns are the norm. The reality? Investing success has never been about chasing extraordinary years. It's about staying disciplined through the ordinary ones.

In this month's newsletter, we're discussing why recent market performance may be creating unrealistic expectations, why revisiting your financial plan is worth the time, and one simple investment that doesn't involve the stock market at all: a good book.

Remember that financial plan you created 10 or 15 years ago? There's a good chance your life looks different today than it did when you first put that plan on paper.

In this week's Dollars & Sense podcast, Marc and Christian discuss why financial planning isn't a one-time event and how revisiting your plan can help ensure it still reflects the life you're living today.

Because life has a funny way of changing the script. It's worth checking whether your financial plan got the latest draft.

Twenty-five years later, many of us can still remember exactly where we were.

In today's blog, Marc shares where he was on September 11, 2001, and reflects on the resilience, community, and perseverance that emerged from one of the most difficult days in our nation's history.

As we pause to remember those who lost their lives and honor the courage shown that day and in the days that followed, we are reminded that some of the most powerful lessons come from seeing the very best of humanity in the face of unimaginable adversity.

It's hard to believe, but it's been nearly a decade since Christian first walked through our doors.

In this week's Dollars & Sense podcast, Marc sits down with Christian to talk about his journey into financial planning, how he found his way to Freedman Financial, and what he's learned along the way.

They also discuss Christian's recent promotion to Partner, the growth of the firm over the years, and why some things, like putting people first, never go out of style.

It's a conversation about putting in the work, learning along the way, and how nine years can go by a lot faster than you'd think.

"Should I buy gold? Invest in cryptocurrency? Purchase a new home?"

Some financial decisions come up again and again. And with so much information coming from so many different places, it can be hard to know what advice actually makes sense for your situation.

In this episode of Dollars & Sense, Marc and Marion discuss a smarter way to approach financial decisions, so you're not relying on headlines, hot takes, or what your neighbor's cousin read online.

Because good financial decisions aren't about finding the loudest voice.

They're about asking the right questions.
