🚨 Tax Season Update – March 15th! 🚨

First things first – a huge THANK YOU to everyone for your patience and support, especially our dedicated clients who have been with us through thick and thin. We’re working hard to ensure we service all of you efficiently and accurately!

Now, can someone tell us where the time is going? March 15th already?! Just one more month to go, and the clock is ticking. ⏳ A friendly reminder: documents received after March 23rd may require an extension request – so don’t let procrastination win this round!

Speaking of procrastinators… yes, YOU! We see you, we know you, and we love you—but those documents need to be dropped off ASAP. Don’t let the deadline sneak up on you!

⚠️ A gentle (but firm) reminder:
We know our tax warriors don’t love change, but we are strictly adhering to a drop-off process—all documents must be in the office before any scheduled review. No exceptions. Help us help you!

Also, a small but mighty request: sealed envelopes, staples, bands, and paperclips are our kryptonite. 🦸‍♂️ They slow us down. Please, for the love of efficiency, remove all staples, unclip those stacks, and free your documents from their envelopes before dropping them off. Every little bit helps keep the tax machine running smoothly!

🚨 Tax Warriors Assemble! 🚨

First off, a HUGE thank you for your patience! We know the struggle is real—unanswered calls, texts left unread, and the general feeling that we’ve vanished into the tax abyss. But rest assured, there is a method to this madness!

✅ Step 1: DROP OFF YOUR DOCUMENTS! No drop-off, no appointment—it’s that simple. The deadline for drop-offs is March 5th for businesses (March 15th deadline) and March 24th
for individuals (April 15th deadline). Anything after that will require an extension and may incur additional fees.

✅ Step 2: Help us help you—open those envelopes! Remove the papers, ditch the staples, lose the paper clips. (Seriously, we’ve seen some tax-time Tetris nightmares.)

✅ Step 3: Be kind to our amazing staff. They are juggling multiple roles—schedulers, organizers, receptionists, and top-tier security detail for yours truly, the taxman.

We’re tackling the backlog and prioritizing the March 15th corporate/entity deadline before going full steam ahead to the April 15th finish line.

🔔 Final reminder: We know your tax docs are buried in drawers, stacked on counters, or hiding in that one mystery pile. But until they make their way to us, they can’t work their magic.

Great news and a win for Small Businesses across America !!

The Treasury Department is announcing today that, with respect to the Corporate Transparency Act, not only will it not enforce any penalties or fines associated with the beneficial ownership information reporting rule under the existing regulatory deadlines but it will further not enforce any penalties or fines against U.S. citizens or domestic reporting companies or their beneficial owners after the forthcoming rule changes take effect either.

Important Update: Massachusetts PFML Taxability for 2025

Dear Valued Clients,

We want to inform you about recent developments regarding the tax treatment of Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) benefits for the year 2025.

IRS Guidance on PFML Benefits:
On January 15, 2025, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued guidance concerning the taxability of state-administered PFML programs. According to this guidance, PFML benefits received in 2025 are considered taxable income for federal purposes. However, the IRS has provided transitional relief for the year 2025, indicating that states or employers are not required to withhold federal taxes on these benefits during this period.

Massachusetts State Tax Withholding:
The Massachusetts Department of Family and Medical Leave (DFML) allows recipients of PFML benefits to opt for state tax withholding. If you choose this option, 5% of your benefits will be withheld for state taxes. This election is made during your PFML application process and cannot be changed once approved.

Recommendations:
• Federal Taxes: Since federal tax withholding is not mandatory for PFML benefits in 2025, we recommend setting aside funds to cover potential tax liabilities when filing your 2025 federal tax return.
• State Taxes: Consider opting for the 5% state tax withholding during your PFML application to manage your Massachusetts tax obligations effectively.
• Consult a Tax Professional: Tax situations can vary based on individual circumstances. We strongly advise consulting with a tax professional to understand how these updates may impact your specific tax situation.
