Bonus depreciation is back at 100% for 2025... BUT it’s also on the IRS’s radar.

Here’s how to stay out of trouble:
1️⃣ 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿. 2024 assets only qualify for 60%. 100% starts with property placed in service after Jan 19, 2025.
2️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀𝗲. The asset has to be ready and working, not just ordered or delivered.
3️⃣ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀. Vehicles need mileage logs, and used property can’t come from a related party.

The write-off is real and valuable, but mistakes here could easily trigger an audit.

Did you file for an extension back in April, thinking, “𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳?”

Well, later has become 𝘯𝘰𝘸: October 15th is the last day to file taxes on extension for your 2024 return.

Which actually does two things at once:
1. Closes the door on last year accurately and completely.
2. Gives us a clear data set to start planning for next year.

Meaning: Your 2024 numbers are the necessary baseline for 2025 tax planning.

And while the OBBBA didn’t change what you owe for 2024, it 𝘥𝘪𝘥 rewrite the playbook for 2025.
