🚨 NEW IRS NOTICE THIS TAX SEASON 🚨
If you’re expecting a refund 💰 and suddenly get Notice CP53E, don’t panic but don’t ignore it either.

This notice means the IRS could NOT send your direct deposit 🏦 the way it was listed on the return.
Instead of mailing the check right away like before, the IRS may now freeze the refund ❄️ until you update your banking info in your IRS Online Account.

⚠️ This is NOT an audit
⚠️ This is NOT a math error
⚠️ This just means your refund is stuck in the system

If you get this letter 📩
✔️ Log into your IRS account
✔️ Update your deposit info
✔️ Respond ASAP so your money isn’t delayed for weeks

Tax season changes every year… and this is one of them. Stay informed so your refund don’t get held up. 💯📚

Can't wait to get your refund? Here's a tip: You can get your refund faster by filing electronically and requesting direct deposit. Most electronically filed returns are processed within 21 days. Best of all, the software checks for errors. You can correct any issues the software finds before you submit your return, which can help reduce delays.

🚨 IRS TRANSCRIPT CODES🚨
(What They ACTUALLY Mean)

✴️ 826 – Part or all of your refund was taken to pay a debt (offset). This can be child support, student loans, prior tax debt, etc.

✴️ 846 – Refund approved. This means the IRS has issued your refund or scheduled it.

✴️ 570 – Refund hold. The IRS needs to review something before releasing your refund.

✴️ 971 – Notice issued. This usually explains why there is a hold or what additional information is needed. Often paired with code 570.

✴️ 810 – Refund freeze. This is more serious and usually involves suspected issues that require review before any refund can be released.

✴️ 811 – Refund freeze reversed. The IRS lifted the freeze after reviewing the issue.

✴️ 091 – Revocation of being taxed as a small business. This is related to entity tax classification, not personal refunds.

✴️ 177 – Abatement of estimated tax penalty. The IRS removed a penalty that was previously assessed.

✴️ 768 – Earned Income Credit (EITC) applied to the account.

✴️ 424 – Examination request. Your return was referred to IRS Examination or Appeals for review.

✴️ 425 – Examination reversed. The prior 424 review was closed or removed.

‼️ Transcript codes are not random and they don’t mean “panic.” ‼️

🚨 IMPORTANT TAX REMINDER FOR PARENTS 🚨

Yes, your child can file their own tax return but parents still need to understand the dependency rules 🧾⚠️

When a dependent files a tax return, there is a required box that must be checked stating
“Someone else can claim me as a dependent.”

If that box is not checked and the child files first, it can prevent the parent from properly filing and claiming them later.

📌 Here’s the bottom line for 2026 👇🏽

You may still claim your child as a dependent if they meet IRS rules:

✔️ Under age 19, or
✔️ Under age 24 and a full-time student, and
✔️ Does not provide more than 50% of their own support, and
✔️ Lives with you more than 6 months out of the year

👉🏾Age alone does not disqualify a child.

♿ Important exception
If your child is permanently and totally disabled, there is no age limit. They may still qualify as your dependent as long as the support and residency rules are met.

Too many parents stop claiming their children just because they turned 18 or started filing on their own and that can mean leaving credits and deductions on the table 💸

Your child can file their own return AND you can still claim them if they qualify under IRS dependency rules.

📎 Knowing the rules matters
📎 Filing correctly matters
📎 Protecting your credits matters

Make sure you’re keeping your coins… not giving them away 💰🧾
