I have been preparing income taxes since 1987, working for a small public accounting firm, Accounting & Bookkeeping Services, Inc. With a very small client base I supplemented her income by doing contract work for a machining company in Bedford, Bowen Machine Co., while they were going through bankruptcy. When that business subsequently closed, I passed the Internal Revenue Service Special Enrollm
ent Examination in 2001. This federal license allows me to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service at all administrative levels. Becoming an Enrolled Agent allowed me to focus my practice on income taxes for not only the individual, but small businesses, estates and trusts as well. Along with this licensing, I continues to attend tax and business seminars. I have completed my third year of the National Tax Practice Institute and am now a Fellow. This program is sponsored by the National Association of Enrolled Agents, and is a three year process of in depth study of tax law and the IRS processes in order to help guide clients through the maze of IRS issues. Member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, along with the Ohio State Society of Enrolled Agents and the National Association of Tax Professionals. In addition to operating a year round tax practice, I served the Village of Peninsula as the elected Clerk-Treasurer for six years. In my free time, I enjoy running, bicycling and motorcycling with my long time partner, Philip. We live with our cat, Pita, in Peninsula.
