So you started an LLC in 2026?

That's great! Here are a couple of important dates to remember:

If you started the LLC by yourself, (a single-member LLC) and did not elect to be taxed as an S-corp, then you will file a Schedule C for the LLC and attach it to your regular 1040. The 1040 is due 4/15/2027

If you started the LLC with a friend or family member, (a multi-member LLC) and did not elect to be taxed as an S-Corp, then the LLC will file a separate tax return, a 1065 Partnership return. The 1065 is due 3/15/2027

If you started an LLC (either individually or with someone), and elected to be taxed as an S-corp, then the LLC will file a seperate return, a 1120S Corporate return. The 1120S is due 3/15/2027

Please be aware of the March deadlines, as you can be penalized if you file after the deadline.
