A Qualified Tuition Program, otherwise known as a 529 plan, allows you to set money aside toward a child's future higher education expenses. The earnings accumulate tax free while in the account and distributions aren’t taxed when they’re used to pay for qualified higher education expenses.

A lot of new things happening at Matt Foster & Associates, LLC. New operating hours are 9-7 Monday, 9-5 Tuesday, 9-7 Wednesday 9-7 Thursday, 9-5 Friday, and 8-12 Saturday, can make appointments other times by appointment.

Next new item. WE HAVE MOVED!!!! We are now located at 227 Rick Street Philipsburg, PA 16866, we are very excited by this move, if you have any issues finding us please call 814-343-6736. We are growing and it is very exciting.

We are accepting new clients, call if you have any questions or want a consultation.

Oh and I became a dad last month, most important new thing!!!

Update: We can now show the effects of the covid-19 unemployment compensation on current tax returns. The first $10,200 of unemployment is not taxable, if you qualify. As far as we know amended returns will not need to be done, if you have already filed your 2020 tax return and had unemployment. Filing an amended return right now will just cause problems.

The due date for tax returns has moved from April 15th to May 17th 2021.

The house passed an extension for applying for PPP loans 60 days, so the end of May 2021, this is awaiting the approval of the Senate.

The IRS announced today that you can start e-filing tax returns starting FEBRUARY 12TH!!!!! We can meet before that and get your returns done, but we can not file until that date..

Everything has changed AGAIN... We are mandated to close by the Governor. I am still working on tax returns and have a mail slot. If you want to drop off your taxes you can put them into the mail slot. If you want to wait until the shut down is over and want to meet with me, the filing deadline for taxes has moved to July 15, 2020. Thank you, call 814-343-6736 with any questions. Individuals can delay tax payments in aggregate of $1,000,000 to the July 15th 2020 deadline. As of right now the due date to FILE is still April 15, 2020. We are still running our normal hours. If you are a returning client and want to drop off your information instead of sitting down and meeting with me that is fine. If you are a new client or a returning client that will like to meet with me that is fine please call 814-343-6736 and set up an appointment.

Small busy Accounting firm. Applicant will need to have strong organizational skills and detail oriented. Job duties include: Payroll, Payroll Tax Payments, Quickbooks, Data Entry, Answering Phone, and Mailings. Salary based on experience. Saturday hours and overtime during January - April. Paid time off starting after 6 months.
