For many entrepreneurs, the business isn't just what they do. It's what they've spent years building, protecting, and sacrificing for.

That's why succession planning is about more than deciding who takes over. It's about preserving the value of what you've created, protecting the people who depend on it, and ensuring your life's work continues to support the future you envision.

The strongest succession plans aren't built when you're ready to leave. They're built while you still have the opportunity to shape what comes next.

Retirement planning has evolved.

Today, building a successful retirement strategy often means thinking beyond investments alone. How and when you withdraw income, the tax implications of different accounts, and coordinating your retirement income sources can all have a meaningful impact on your long-term financial picture.

A thoughtful retirement income strategy isn't just about growing your wealth. It's about preserving it, using it efficiently, and creating a plan that supports the lifestyle you've worked so hard to achieve.

If it's been a while since you've reviewed your retirement strategy, now is a great time to make sure it still aligns with your goals.

What if financial planning isn't really about retirement?
In our educational session this week, we explored a simple but powerful idea:

Financial planning is about creating options.
One case study featured a couple in their late 40s experiencing burnout. They wanted to know if they could take a five-year sabbatical, travel, spend more time together, and still stay on track financially.
Through planning, we found they could.

Another case study focused on a couple in their 30s who consistently save and invest about 30% of their income. Their goal isn't necessarily early retirement. It's having the freedom to choose a different path later in life, whether that's mission-driven work, more family time, reduced stress, or retiring early.

The common theme?

Financial independence isn't just about stopping work.

It's about having the flexibility to:

- Take a career break
- Change careers
- Spend more time with family
- Travel more
- Pursue a passion project
- Give back to causes you care about

The numbers matter. The analysis matters.

But the purpose behind the plan matters most.

Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation.

We host these educational sessions on the third Tuesday of every month at 7 PM ET. Our next session is September 15th, and we'd love to have you join us.

The biggest retirement surprise often has little to do with your finances.

For many people, retirement means stepping away from the routine, relationships, and sense of purpose that a career has provided for decades. While financial preparation is essential, preparing for how you'll spend your time can be just as important.

The most fulfilling retirements are often built with intention. They include meaningful relationships, new experiences, personal passions, and a vision for what this next chapter of life can look like.

At Chosen Advisory Group, we believe a successful retirement plan goes beyond the numbers. It's about creating the freedom and confidence to enjoy the life you've worked so hard to build.

If you're beginning to think about what retirement could look like, we'd love to help you build a plan that supports both your financial goals and the life you envision.

A new chapter has begun.

Aaliyah and I have officially made the move to San Francisco as she begins her plastic surgery fellowship. This opportunity comes after graduating from her ENT residency at UPMC, and I couldn't be more proud of everything she's accomplished. Watching the dedication and perseverance she's poured into this journey has been incredible, and I'm excited to see where this next chapter takes her.

We've already started settling in, exploring the city, attending a U.S. Soccer match, and meeting some great people along the way.

While our home base has changed, Chosen Advisory Group hasn't. We've always built our practice around relationships, not geography. Whether I'm meeting with clients across Pennsylvania, California, or anywhere else, you'll continue to receive the same thoughtful guidance, responsiveness, and commitment you've come to expect from me and our team.

I'm looking forward to everything this next chapter brings, both personally and professionally.

Bilal and his wife recently traveled to Cabo to celebrate her co-resident’s Indian wedding and took the opportunity to turn the trip into a getaway for the two of them as well.

Amid busy schedules and ambitious goals, it is important to make time to step away, recharge, and enjoy the experiences that make life meaningful. Some of the best moments come from slowing down, being present, and creating memories with the people who matter most.

A great reminder that while planning for the future is important, so is taking the time to enjoy the life you're building today.

Another incredible Northwestern Mutual Annual Meeting is in the books.

One of the highlights was having the opportunity to step onto the main stage and speak in front of more than 15,000 people. A moment I’ll always remember.

Our team was honored to be recognized as part of the Court of Honor, an achievement earned by a select group among more than 8,000 financial advisors. More than anything, it’s a reflection of the trust our clients place in us every day, and for that I’m incredibly grateful.

Beyond the recognition, one of the best parts of the week was spending quality time with my incredible team. Those moments outside the office strengthen the relationships that ultimately help us better serve our clients. I connected and learned from colleagues from across the country, and our keynote speaker, Ryan Leak, reminded me that growth isn’t just about working harder; it’s about working with greater intention.

A few ideas from Ryan’s keynote that will stick with me:

- Behind every “yes” are countless hidden yeses required to make it successful.
- The standard you tolerate eventually becomes the culture you create.
- Great leaders don’t just put out fires; they smell the smoke and solve problems before they happen.
- Ask people how they’re doing… then ask them a second time.

As advisors, our job goes beyond managing investments or building financial plans. It’s about caring for people, creating memorable experiences, and showing up consistently when it matters most.

I’m leaving this week energized, grateful, and excited to continue raising the standard for our clients, our team, and I.
