Hi everyone, it’s Bryan! I am back from Italy and back in the office! It was a lovely trip full of culture, memories, family, food, and relaxation—truly unforgettable. Hi everyone, it’s Bryan! It’s day 10 of living in Italy until they accept me as a local! Come reflect with us on our final night here in Crasciana. This truly has been a trip of a lifetime, filled with unforgettable memories, beautiful traditions, amazing food, and so much love from the people around us.

Thank you for joining us on this journey, and thank you to everyone in Crasciana for the hospitality, culture, lessons, kindness, and incredible food. Hi everyone, it’s Bryan! Today is day nine of living in Italy until they accept me as a local! Since I already had the honor of carrying the Madonna up and down the mountain and Festone is over, there is a new exciting thing in town—Emily’s dad, Marino!

Marino grew up coming to Crasciana with his parents and later brought his own family here, so it is so special to have him back again and to all be together for Emily and I’s last few days. Tonight is pizza night in Crasciana, and we are so happy to be here as a family, making memories, sharing traditions, and feeling so blessed.

Hi everyone, it’s Bryan! Today is day eight of living in Italy until they accept me as one of the locals! It is the last day of Festone. I had the incredible honor of carrying the Madonna back down to Santo alla Villa, and it was such a special experience to be part of this beautiful tradition. Festone has been filled with community, history, celebration, and meaning, and I am so grateful to have been welcomed into such an important moment here in Crasciana.

Hi everyone, it’s Bryan! Today is day six of living in Italy until they accept me as a local! Today is the big day where they will decide whether or not they will let me help carry the special Madonna statue up the mountain for Festone. Festone is a big celebration that happens every three years here in Crasciana. On the first day, they go down to the original church of the village to retrieve the Madonna statue and bring her up the mountain to the current church. Then, on the third day, they bring her back down. It is a great honor to be part of transporting her during the processions, and I am so grateful to even be considered.

The Italian word of the day is “pomposa,” which means something grand, ceremonial, or full of celebration. It feels like the perfect word for a special tradition like this. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Hi everyone, it’s Bryan! Today is day five of living in Italy until they accept me as a local! Tonight, I want to share what’s for dinner. Nonna is teaching us about pasta arrabbiata, a classic Italian pasta dish made with a spicy tomato sauce, usually with garlic, olive oil, and red chili peppers. The name “arrabbiata” means “angry” in Italian, which comes from the heat and spice of the sauce!

Nonna Diva calls it “pasta 1, 2, 3” because in “1, 2, 3” minutes, it’s done! The dish comes together quickly, simply, and deliciously—so 1, 2, 3! Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Hi everyone, it’s Bryan! Today is day four of living in Italy until they accept me as a local! Today, we are in the piazza, the town square of Crasciana, where people gather for events, relax during the day, talk with one another, and enjoy each other’s company. Today, there is a party with music, snacks, drinks, ice cream, and bubbles held by our friend Clark!

I am trying the ice cream for the first time, which leads us to the perfect Italian word of the day: gelato! We have the flavors crema, nocciola, and cioccolato (cream, hazelnut, and chocolate), and they are so delicious. Enjoy the day, everyone!
