Please join us in welcoming Audrey to the BKC team!

Audrey joined the firm in October 2025 and has been a wonderful addition to our Audit & Assurance practice. Audrey brings three years of audit experience from BDO USA and is a graduate of Ohio University. Audrey is looking forward to working with local businesses and expanding her network in the community.

Outside of the office, Audrey enjoys spending time with friends and family, baking and golfing. If you get the chance to chat with Audrey, be sure to ask about her eighth great-uncle who signed the Declaration of Independence.

🚨 Important 2025 Tax Refund Update 🚨

Starting with 2025 tax returns, the IRS is strongly moving away from paper refund checks.

If a taxpayer does NOT include direct deposit information on their return, here’s what to expect:

✔️ The return will still be accepted and processed
⏳ BUT the refund may be delayed
📬 The IRS will mail a notice asking for banking information
⏱️ If there’s no response, the refund could be held for weeks before a paper check is issued

This change follows Executive Order 14247, which aims to modernize government payments and phase out paper checks beginning September 30, 2025, with limited exceptions.

💡 Bottom line:
Providing direct deposit information is still voluntary, but it’s now the fastest and least stressful way to receive a refund.

If you have questions or don’t have a traditional bank account, talk with your tax professional early so there are no surprises.

When Josh isn’t in the office, he is a full-time family man who loves spending time with his wife and three young kids. Whether he’s reliving childhood favorites like building forts and Legos, or diving into new adventures with Barbies and dress-up, family time is always at the center. Josh also volunteers with local nonprofits and enjoys being involved with his church and school communities. Outside of that, he enjoys cooking, board games, hiking, camping, and just about anything related to sports. Go Bears!

Carrie has been an essential part of our BKC family for 21 years! As a Tax Manager specializing in trusts and estates, Carrie brings unmatched expertise, dedication, and care to every client she works with. It’s no secret that her clients love her—not just for her knowledge, but for the patience, compassion, and clarity she brings to what can often be sensitive matters.

Outside the office, Carrie enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their two children, Brayden and Emily, who keep busy with volleyball and tennis. When she’s not in the stands cheering them on, she enjoys being outdoors—flower gardening, hunting, and taking family vacations.
