💡 Weekly Tax Tip: Bought a New Car? Don’t Forget About the New Auto Loan Interest Deduction

One of the newer tax breaks is a deduction for interest paid on certain qualifying vehicle loans.

🚗 If you purchased a new vehicle and financed it, you may be able to deduct up to $10,000 of qualifying loan interest — even if you don’t itemize deductions.

But there are rules:

🔹 The vehicle generally must be new — used vehicles don't qualify.
🔹 The loan must have been taken out to purchase the vehicle.
🔹 The vehicle must meet the U.S. final-assembly requirement.
🔹 Income limitations apply, so higher-income taxpayers may see the deduction reduced or eliminated.

The big takeaway? Keep your vehicle purchase and financing paperwork. That interest you normally wouldn't think twice about at tax time could now save you money.

Tax laws change, and sometimes those changes actually work in your favor.

💡 Weekly Tax Tip: Charitable Donations Aren't Always Deductible

Many people assume every donation lowers their taxes. Unfortunately, that's not how it works.

To claim a charitable deduction, you generally must:
✅ Itemize your deductions instead of taking the standard deduction.
✅ Donate to a qualified charitable organization.
✅ Keep proper documentation for your donations.

For many taxpayers, the standard deduction is now large enough that charitable gifts don't provide an additional federal tax benefit—but that doesn't mean giving isn't worthwhile.

Before year-end, it's a good idea to review whether your charitable giving is actually helping your tax situation.

Questions about maximizing your deductions? Let's talk before December instead of after tax season begins.

💡 Weekly Tax Tip #2: Don't Miss the September 15 Estimated Tax Deadline

If you have a side hustle, freelance income, rental property, or other income that's not subject to tax withholding, mark your calendar: September 15 is the deadline to make your third-quarter estimated tax payment.

If all of your income comes from a W-2 job with taxes withheld from each paycheck, this likely doesn't apply to you.

However, if you receive:
• 1099 income
• Rental income
• Significant investment gains
• Self-employment income
..the IRS generally expects you to pay taxes throughout the year—not just when you file your return.

Missing an estimated payment can result in underpayment penalties and interest, even if you ultimately pay your tax bill in full.

A quick rule of thumb: If you owed more than $1,000 when you filed your 2025 tax return, it's worth reviewing whether you should be making estimated tax payments in 2026.

Not sure if this applies to you? A quick conversation now could save you money later.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy today will never be forgotten.

At Rebel Tax & Accounting LLC, we are deeply grateful to all who have served — and especially to those who gave everything for this nation.

As part of our commitment to giving back, Rebel Tax & Accounting proudly donates 10% of collected fees to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, supporting our nation’s heroes and their families.

Today is about remembrance, gratitude, and honoring those who never made it home. 🇺🇸

Some moments just hit differently.

Today we received a personal message from the Tunnel to Towers Foundation thanking Rebel Tax and Accounting LLC for supporting their mission — including an invitation to attend the Steel Across America Tour stop at West Point this September.

Honestly, that means a lot to us.

This business was never meant to just be about numbers. From day one, Gina and I wanted Rebel Tax and Accounting to stand for something bigger. That’s why we donate 10% of collected fees to Tunnel to Towers.

Supporting America’s heroes, first responders, veterans, and their families is something we deeply believe in.

Very grateful for the recognition, and even more grateful to be in a position where our business can give back.
