What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a family-owned business? Keep your personal and business finances completely separate from day one. It’s one of the simplest things you can do to have accurate financials from the beginning.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work? I’m an avid outdoorsman, and I also enjoy playing volleyball.

Fun fact most people might not know about you? Not many people know I’m musical. I play the trumpet and piano, and I’m also fluent in two languages!

We just finished Q2, which means we're exactly at the midpoint of 2026.

That's the ideal time to take stock of where you stand: Are your estimated payments on track? Are there deductions or distributions worth planning now? Is there anything that could catch you off guard in April?

Summer is a quieter season for our team, which means more focused, one-on-one time with your accountant.

Mid-year planning sessions are available now through August 1st — after that, they won't resume until late October.

If you're already asking yourself what this year is going to look like at tax time, that's your sign. Reach out to schedule a mid-year tax planning session before August 1st.

At Dennis & Associates, learning doesn't stop after tax season.

We were thrilled to welcome our longtime friend, Susan Smith, CPA, while she was in town leading training for our team. Susan is one of the accounting profession's most respected educators and to us she's also a trusted colleague and friend. We're always grateful for the opportunity to learn from her.

The fact that she was also able to join us at our summer outing made the week even more special.

It's relationships like these that remind us how connected the accounting community really is.

Last Friday, our team traded spreadsheets for sunshine as we gathered for our annual Dennis & Associates Summer Outing in Hull.
🌊☀️
With team members traveling in from Cancun, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Maryland, it was a special opportunity to spend time together outside of the office. We enjoyed beachside views, lawn games, birthday celebrations, and an unforgettable hibachi dinner complete with flying shrimp and sake being launched from a water gun.

One of the things we’re most proud of at Dennis & Associates is the team we’ve built. While many of us work remotely from different states and locations, opportunities like this allow us to reconnect, celebrate our accomplishments, and strengthen the relationships that help us serve our clients every day.

The work we do for our clients is important, but so are the relationships we build with one another. Days like these are a reminder of just how fortunate we are to work with such an incredible team.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate a special evening of recognition, leadership, and service for several members of the Dennis & Associates team.

On June 17, Partner Jennifer Slapak was installed as President of the Quincy Lions Club, a well-deserved honor that reflects her longstanding commitment to serving our community. During the evening, Jennifer was also surprised with both the District 33K Keys to Service Award and the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund Sight Award, recognizing her dedication and contributions to the Lions mission.

The evening brought even more reasons to celebrate as Dennis & Associates was recognized with the Outstanding Team Commitment Award. This honor reflects the collective dedication, compassion, and volunteer spirit demonstrated by our team members throughout the year.

We are also thrilled to congratulate Sue Corcoran on being named Quincy Lions Club Lion of the Year. This recognition is a testament to Sue's tireless efforts, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to helping others.
In addition, Josephine Vidal was re-installed as Treasurer, Paula Maier was installed as Secretary, and Sue Corcoran was installed as an At-Large Board Member.

It was an inspiring evening and a reminder of the impact that can be made when people come together in service to their community. Congratulations to Jennifer, Sue, Josephine, Paula, and everyone involved. We are proud to have such dedicated leaders and volunteers on our team.
