May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month 💜

And while I don’t share this part of my life often…
it’s a huge part of why I move the way I do.

My son Hayden has CF.

And before you go getting emotional
because this is NOT a sob story.

This is a story about progress.
About resilience.
About what happens when science, community, and advocacy actually show up.

Because of drugs like Trikafta, kids like Hayden are out here living FULL lives.

He’s 13.
A 2026 League Champion. 🏆
And heading into his next chapter playing at Leesville.

That’s what this fight looks like.

But we’re not done yet.

We still need funding.
We still need awareness.
We still need people who give a damn.

Our 5th Valentine’s together… but our FIRST as husband and wife. 💍✨

To my forever Mr. Ooh La La; I’m so grateful for your love, your support, and the way you show up for me every single day.

I’m about to let him take over my social media, so I can’t wait to see what he cooks up. 🤩 I know I’m biased… but he really is so good. He puts his whole heart into everything he creates.

For those who don’t know, my husband Lynn owns MIXX Multimedia & MIXX Music Magazine and does all of my branding and website design. Let’s just say… having a creative genius for a husband is a very good investment. 😉

And of course we couldn’t forget our Bubbers. Frederick, our 7-year-old Old English Sheepdog. 🐾

Full disclosure: I don’t always know what to post about here. I know I want to make my firm different than others—not just by what I do, but by also advocating for a healthier work culture and what real leadership looks like in business.

Not that I’m claiming to be an expert, nor perfect. But I’ve worked in this field for over 15 years. I’ve held positions of authority. I’ve felt the pressure of working under a bully—and I know firsthand how it can push you to compromise your own values or shrink yourself just to keep the peace.

A few years ago, I blew the whistle on that exact situation. It changed everything for me.

And here I am now—building, connecting, growing, thriving, and learning how to hold my boundaries even when it’s inconvenient and uncomfortable. 25 year old me would be like “betch, whaaat??” 😲

When I started my business, I knew I wanted to lead with passion—not just for the numbers, but for the people behind them. And I’m just here to say, mean girl energy makes me want to puke.

I had a recent meeting with a fellow business owner—he’s a partner at a private wealth management firm—and as we swapped stories about how we got here, one thing became crystal clear:

Toxic work environments? Sadly, way too common.

But what he said next really stuck with me:
“We have a strict No As***le Policy. I don’t care who you are—you’re not going to be an as***le to me or my staff.” 👏🏻

And you know what? SAME. ⚡️

That’s exactly the energy I’m bringing into every room and every relationship moving forward.

So let it be known:
SAVVY is officially operating under a No As***le Policy.

We don’t do ego trips, power plays, or performative professionalism here.

We do kindness. We do respect. We do high standards without the high drama.

You can be wildly successful and still be a decent human.

So here’s the new house rule:

Five years ago, you probably dreamed of being where you are now.

What felt impossible then… you’re living now.

Even in the chaos of tax season 🤯, I’m taking a moment to talk about something deeply personal—my son, Hayden 💙 and his journey with Cystic Fibrosis.

Hayden’s battle with CF hasn’t always been easy. When he was just 2–3 years old, we were facing the very real possibility of a feeding tube because he struggled so much to gain weight 🍽️. But with the incredible support of his pulmonary team at UNC 🏥, he pushed through like the fighter he is 💪.

Today, thanks to groundbreaking research made possible by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 🧬, Hayden is thriving. He’s on a medication called Trikafta—a true game changer that has drastically improved his quality of life 🌈. I can’t even put into words how grateful I am for the progress he’s made 🙏.

The annual Great Strides Walk is coming up next month 👟, and I’m back to raise money for the CF Foundation—to keep pushing for better therapies, and one day, a cure 💜.
