Tina Coleman Owen with Damsel in Defense gave her "Enhanced Campus Safety with a Complimentary Safety Consultation" presentation yesterday evening to an attentive group of parents and college/high school students. Along with the various safety and awareness topics Tina presented, she also left everyone with a handout covering - "Your 5 Safety Rules" and "Your Safety Toolbox." To accompany her presentation, Tina also had a selection of safety products to choose from that enhance your personal safety.

It is always a plus when our girls hear about personal safety spoken from someone other than - Mom and Dad. It enhances the message.

At this week's Cary Small Business Network, Jesse Malone gave an informative talk on financial planning and his services through Edward Jones. Thank you, Jesse, for the enlightenment. I tried my best to capture people while eating. If you look closely at the entrance to the Cary IHOP, you will see Jessica Yee talking with James Govier, Lending Path Mortgage. Nader Mahmoud and Brent Roberts from Exit Factor introduced me to a new networking group last night called Raleigh Veteran Connect held at the South Line Brewery in Apex. The group offers a monthly event to get local veterans and spouses to connect and talk about their businesses. It is always a great pleasure for me to connect and converse with other veterans. I was impressed by the conversations, which were focused more on what people are doing now and where they are headed with their businesses in the future.
