My last year of college I took a marketing class, as an accounting major. In the class the professor attempted to break us up by groups as though we were a business team. 👩‍🎓

I was the obvious numbers person. 🔢 The first day of the project I was absent. During my absence my team created a product, a backpack to be exact, via a virtual business/sales demonstration where we would get an understanding of how marketing can impact sales. 💲

The Great NEWS: We sold a ton of backpacks! Best SALES of the class. 😍

The BAD NEWS: Our virtual fake business was purging money. What. The. Heck. 🤢

How is that possible? Welp, remember when I said the numbers girl was absent?? My team had not realized that although we kept our fixed expense down, our cost of customer acquisition and cost of the backpack was not sustainable. In fact we would have been more profitable if we sold 0 backpacks. Every time we sold a backpack we lost another $2. 😭

We did NOT price our backpack correctly. Luckily upon my return I showed my team the pricing error that were made and helped to increase our bottom line. 💵

I have seen this same thing happening over and over again with other entrepreneurs and I am on a MISSION to put an end to it. 🙋‍♀️

I made a client cry.😳

I know what your thinking...
"What a Jerk!" Right?

Nope... Let me explain... 🤔

Today I presented some steep numbers to one of my clients. A financial model for 2019 that probably looked impossible to achieve. I was shooting for the stars for them. ⭐

Not only did it look impossible, one of the partners told me "THATS IMPOSSIBLE". I slammed my hand on the table and I said "STOP!" 🔥

I presented them with a NEW pricing strategy, a NEW way to run their business, a NEW idea that would cut their Cost of Goods Sold and let them focus on work they LOVE to do. ❤

Once the strategy was presented... my client is getting emotional. Tears. 💧REAL 💧FREAKING 💧TEARS! 💧

I asked "tell me whats going on, why are you emotional?" She said... "I LOVE IT, 5 minutes ago I was ready to throw in the towel, I JUST LOVE IT and this is achievable."

Then I started getting emotional. By far one of the best moments I have had as a business owner. 🤗
