When you have a community worth serving, it makes the difference. Thats what makes these mornings special.
Last week at the Rotary Club in Banning, CA, we gathered again at Nosotros Café. My favorite coffee, amazing people, and the kind of conversations that remind you why community matters.
Rotary has a simple mission: service above self.
It’s about investing in the city we live in.
We had some announcements. Back To school bash Aug 1st 10am to 2pm thrive church. Great for the children going back. Also Horses and Hattitudes. Prizes, petting zoo (July 24th). That will be a blast! Which one will you be going to?
This meeting we got to welcome in a new member to rotary. Always an amazing feeling connecting with people looking to grow the community and make a difference. Welcome Makaiza 😁.
Our speaker was Tony with Vietnam Veterans of America chapter. They are the 2nd largest chapter in California. Their goal is that their will never be again a generation of veterans abandon another. They help with college scholarship, veteran assistant program, among other assistance and veteran villages help pay for them. They have pantry's for 5 veterans villages. Plus fundraisers, donates to military and veterans organizations. As a veteran myself, this is so amazing to see.
We give away raffle gifts at Rotary meetings. I’m still hoping my name gets called one of these days 😂 but the real win is being part of something bigger than ourselves.
