If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t want all my eggs in one basket,” this episode is for you.

In this episode, we’re talking about why diversifying your income is less about “doing more” and more about creating stability, flexibility, and options. Because relying on one paycheck — even a good one — can quietly create pressure.

Holly and I are sharing how to think about active, passive, and leveraged income in a practical way, how to start small without burning yourself out, and why building multiple streams is really about protecting your peace long-term.

This isn’t about hustle culture. It’s about strategy. Let’s build in a way that supports the life you actually want.

People assume because I’m a financial advisor, I follow a perfect budget and know every single charge on my credit card statement. WRONG.

I am just like everybody else, I HATE looking at my spending habits, it is the worst. But it is a necessary evil.

Last year I started the habit of looking at my reoccurring charges/subscriptions every quarter. That way it wasn’t too overwhelming and I could actually feel productive. Well today was the day!

And what a day, I canceled one already, and lowered two others just by calling and haggling 😂

Anyways, how often do you look at your subscription list? Or credit card statement? Or do you avoid it like the plague?

In 2016, I was still finishing my Biology degree, ready to become an Ecologist, rocking a nose ring, and thinking rum & cokes were “sophisticated”.

I love that version of me just as much as the me I am now… the only thing I’d change? Make that hipster self invest in a Roth IRA every single month.

⛳ Women are increasingly stepping onto the green—and into the world of financial empowerment.

As a lifelong golfer, I’ve loved watching more women embrace the sport. It also got me thinking about how golf and financial planning share a lot in common.

Since 2019, the number of female golfers has surged by 2.3 million—a 41% jump—reaching nearly 8 million. Women now make up 28% of on-course players, the highest share ever recorded (National Golf Foundation).

At the same time, about 57% of women in the U.S. work with a financial advisor, showing a growing commitment to building wealth and making informed money decisions (American Century Investments).

Just like a great caddie, a trusted financial advisor reads the course, helps you choose the right approach, and keeps you on track toward your goals. Whether you’re teeing off or growing your wealth, success comes from guidance, planning, and knowing your fairway.

In both golf and finances, it’s not just about the swing—it’s about the game plan.

Let’s go hit the range and talk through your current game—on the course and for your financial future.

Money is just a tool. The real question is: what do you want it to build?

Too often, we set financial goals based on generic benchmarks—retire at 65, save X percent, buy a house by Y date. But the most meaningful goals are the ones rooted in your personal values.

For me, one of those values is travel. Making memories that don’t fit in a spreadsheet. That’s why my financial plan includes a dedicated travel fund. It’s not an “extra”—it’s a priority.

When you align your money with your values, budgeting becomes less about restriction and more about intention. It’s not about saying no to spending—it’s about saying yes to what matters most.

So ask yourself:
What do you value most?
Are your financial goals aligned with that?

If not, it may be time for a refresh. And if you’re not sure where to start, I’d love to help you figure that out.

In this episode of our Career Series, we’re stepping into the fast-paced, commission-driven world of real estate agents. You hustle hard—showings, closings, listings, negotiations. You’re building a business, a brand, and a reputation, often all at once. But amidst the open houses and Instagram-worthy staging, the financial side can get… a little chaotic.

We’re talking cash flow irregularities, self-employment taxes, retirement planning (hello, SEP IRA), and the importance of turning strong commissions into long-term wealth. Whether you’re a seasoned agent or just getting started, we’ll unpack financial strategies to help you build stability, reduce overwhelm, and create a plan that supports you in and out of the market. If you’re great at helping others buy their dream home but haven’t quite built your own financial foundation, this episode is for you.
