04/26/1940 – 08/29/2026

Yesterday, we lost an incredible man, Maurice “Morey” Glazer.

There are CEOs who measure success by numbers, profits, and how much money they can make. And then there are people like Morey, who understood that true success is measured by the lives you touch and the people you help.

Morey was so much more than a CEO. He was a husband, father, uncle, grandfather, boss, mentor, advisor, and friend to so many people.

He began his career in the pension industry in Chicago before moving to Dallas in 1980. In the late 1980s, he started Glazer Financial with his son, David Glazer. What began as a business grew into so much more over the past 40-plus years—a company built on relationships, trust, hard work, and a genuine commitment to taking care of people.

He was incredibly proud of the company he built, but I believe what made him proudest were the relationships he formed along the way. He cared deeply about his employees and clients, and he made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Morey truly loved his work. He loved coming to the office, helping his clients, solving problems, and knowing that people trusted him to take care of them. To him, his clients were never just numbers on a spreadsheet or sources of revenue. They were people, relationships, and commitments he took seriously.

He could have chosen the path that made the most money, but that was never what drove him. He cared far more about doing the right thing and taking care of his clients than about what ended up in his own pocket.

He demonstrated that commitment every single day. No matter what personal obstacles he faced, he showed up. He came to work, took care of his people and his clients, and kept moving forward. That work ethic, dedication, and sense of responsibility were simply part of who he was.

That says so much about the kind of man he was.

His title may have been CEO, but what people will remember most is not the position he held or the money he made. They will remember the way he made people feel—valued, respected, trusted, and cared for.

For more than four decades, Morey built more than a company. He built relationships, opportunities, friendships, and a legacy that will continue through the people he touched, as well as through the family and business he leaves behind.

His impact cannot be measured on a balance sheet. That is a legacy far more meaningful than money could ever buy.

We will miss him more than words can express. His presence, wisdom, humor, work ethic, and the way he cared for the people around him will remain with us always.

Rest peacefully, Morey. Thank you for everything you gave to your family, your employees, your clients, and your friends. Your legacy will live on through all of us who were fortunate enough to know you. ❤️

Did someone call, text, or email and say you have to pay the government immediately, in a specific way, or you’ll be in trouble? That’s a government imposter. No one from the government will ever demand payment only with gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or a payment app. Only a scammer will. ejcc.acl.gov/imposters
