π IRS CYCLE CODE EXPLAINED
(2025 TAX RETURN PROCESSED IN 2026)
If you filed your 2025 tax return and see an 8-digit cycle code on your IRS tax transcript in 2026, this is NORMAL. The cycle code reflects the YEAR YOUR RETURN WAS PROCESSED, not the tax year.
π Example Cycle Code: 20260603
β’ 2026 = IRS processing year
β’ 06 = Processing week of the year
β’ 03 = Processing day (Tuesday)
β
This means your 2025 tax return was processed by the IRS in Week 6 of 2026 on a Tuesday and is on a DAILY update schedule.
β° DAILY vs WEEKLY UPDATES
β’ Cycle codes ending in 01β05 = DAILY updates (MonβFri)
β’ Cycle codes ending in 06 = WEEKLY updates (usually Thursday night into Friday)
π¨ COMMON ISSUES FOR 2025 RETURNS PROCESSED IN 2026
