Fun Fact: You can put the downpayment on your house with your credit card.

But you have to liquidate the credit card first, and every body doesn't have that capability to liquidate.

Knowing how to structure your business properly for asset protection and real estate deals is so important.

You don't know what you can do until you learn what you can do. Financial literacy is key.

The IRS is now requiring users who receive more than $5,000 through Cash App or Venmo to be issued a 1099-K. This means that you will have to report that income on your tax return and pay taxes on that money. In 2025, the amount will be $600 or more.

It doesn't matter if friends and family send you money, you still will have to pay taxes on it.

How will this effect business owners?

Most business owners don't have their documents together so audits on business owners will increase.

What can you do?

Keep your personal and business accounts separate.
Avoid using Cash App and Venmo for your business.
Open a merchant account. You have to pay taxes regardless, so set yourself correctly. Some merchant accounts keep reserves in case of chargebacks. Plan ahead with operational cash in your business account.
Zelle is one of the few and only cash transaction account that does not issue a 1099-K
