Oregonian’s will be getting a kicker next year. The Oregon Office of Economic Analysis (OEA) has confirmed that a more than $1.41 billion revenue surplus in the 2023-2025 biennium.

Well Oregon is doing it again...
Oregon is taxing your stimulus payments even though it is “tax free” on your federal return. What Oregon has done is reduce the deductible portion of your federal tax liability by the amount of your stimulus payments this means your Oregon taxable income is higher than it should be by the amount of your stimulus payments. It is a back door move that effects most low to medium income taxpayers.

There is an email being sent around that looks like it is from the IRS. IT IS NOT.
The email talks about a third stimulus payment and gives a dollar amount. Do not click on any links in that email or respond to it.

Here is an updated from the State of Oregon regarding stimulus payments. They are still saying they are not taxed but then point out that they lower your federal tax deduction which increases your Oregon tax.
