TRUMP ACCOUNT UNDER THE ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT!

Parents, guardians, or others can establish a Trump Account for an eligible child

Trump Accounts cannot be funded before July 4, 2026

The federal government will make a one-time $1,000 contribution for each eligible child’s account. A child must be born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. However, if they were born before 2025, they generally do not receive the $1,000 federal contribution (though they may qualify for smaller private "bonus" deposits).

Authorized contributions from individuals and employers are allowed up to $5,000 per year

Employers can contribute up to $2,500 per year toward an employee’s or dependent’s Trump Account without it counting as taxable income for the employee

Funds must be invested in certain mutual funds or exchange-traded funds that track a U.S. stock index such as the S&P 500

Big news for workers and families: The "One Big Beautiful Bill" (OBBBA) has officially changed the game for your 2025 taxes (the ones you file right now in early 2026!). Whether you’re working a side hustle, pulling extra shifts, or buying a new ride, these new deductions are designed to put cash back in your pocket.

Here’s the breakdown of the "Big Three" tax breaks you need to know about:

No Tax on Tips 🍽️
If you work in a service industry (restaurant, salon, etc.), your tips are now more yours than ever!

The Deal: You can deduct up to $25,000 in cash or credit card tips from your federal income tax.

Eligibility: Available for single earners up to $150k (or $300k for married couples).

How to Claim: Use the new Schedule 1-A when filing your 1040 this year!

No Tax on Overtime ⏰
Stop being penalized for working hard! The "half" in your "time-and-a-half" pay is now protected.

The Deal: You can deduct up to $12,500 ($25,000 for married couples) of "qualified overtime" pay.

The Math: If you make $20/hr and get $30 for OT, that extra $10 "premium" is what you can deduct.

Who it helps: Hourly workers covered by the FLSA who are putting in those extra hours for their families.

No Tax on Car Interest 🚗
Buying American just got a whole lot cheaper.

The Deal: You can deduct up to $10,000 in interest paid on a loan for a new vehicle.

The Catch: To qualify, the vehicle must have its final assembly in the U.S.A. and be for personal use (check your doorjamb sticker or VIN!).

Bonus: You do not have to itemize your taxes to take this deduction—it’s available to everyone!

The Trump Account!!!!

If you are a parent or guardian, you’ve likely heard the buzz about the new Trump Accounts. Part of the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. Think of it as a "Starter IRA" for kids. It’s a tax-deferred investment account owned by the child but managed by you until they turn 18.

Free $1,000 Seed: Through a special pilot program, the government will contribute $1,000 to the accounts of U.S. citizen children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028.

Annual Growth: You, your family, or even employers can contribute up to $5,000 per year to help the account grow even faster.

Built for Success: By law, these funds are invested in low-fee, all-American stock market index funds (like the S&P 500) to ensure long-term growth.

Important Dates
Now: You can begin the process by filing IRS Form 4547 with your 2025 tax return.

May 2026: The Treasury Department will send out instructions to activate and authenticate your child’s account.

July 4, 2026: Official launch! This is the first day you can begin making additional contributions to the accounts.

Who is Eligible?

Any U.S. citizen child under the age of 18 with a valid Social Security number.

No "earned income" is required to open one—making this a unique opportunity compared to traditional IRAs!
