Thete is alot that's involved when a love one passes away.
These little tiny policies people are getting are NOT going to cut it.
Even the cremation process was mind-blowing. I had no idea that after cremation, bone fragments still have to be processed down into what we know as “ashes.” 🙃
But what really got me was ALL the expenses that can come with losing someone:
* Death certificates
* Funeral home/service fees
* Embalming & body preparation
* Hair, makeup & dressing
* Cremation
* Casket or cremation container
* Urn
* Cemetery plot
* Burial vault/grave liner
* Opening AND closing the grave
* Headstone + installation
* Hearse/transportation
* Flowers
* Obituary
* Programs/prayer cards
* Clergy or officiant
* Repast
* Permits
* Transporting remains
* Cemetery maintenance fees
And that’s STILL not everything.
Moral of the post: Make sure you’re properly covered.
Because life insurance isn’t just about paying for a funeral.
You also have to think about your debt, your mortgage, replacing your income, your children’s future, and education expenses. If your family depends on your income, a common starting point is looking at enough coverage to replace several years of that income, not just enough to bury you.
Your family will already be dealing with the pain of losing you. They shouldn’t also be trying to figure out how to pay bills, keep the house, raise the kids, cover funeral expenses, or start a GoFundMe.
Life insurance is about leaving your family options, not obligations.
Love ❤️ Insurance.
