The Oregon Legislature approved House Bill (HB) 4002 in 2022. The measure requires agricultural employers to pay certain workers for overtime hours worked and creates a refundable personal or corporate income tax credit for employers based on a percentage of wages paid as overtime pay, starting with the 2023 tax year.

Oregon - Register now for low-cost health coverage!

Open enrollment for 2024 health coverage is ending soon. If your employees have not chosen their health plan yet, please encourage them to do so before the Jan. 16 due date.

Open enrollment is the one time of year when people can make changes to health insurance without a qualifying life event. Please help us make sure your employees don't miss out on this opportunity to ensure they have the coverage they and their families need.

If you have employees who still need to get covered for 2024, encourage them to reach out to health insurance experts available through the Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace. They can provide free one-on-one assistance when applying for health coverage and selecting the best plan.

Get started by previewing your plan options or finding an expert at OregonHealthCare.gov.

North Carolina: NCSUITS Insights: Find tax rates in NCSUITS; Learn how to create linkages

The Division of Employment Security values your input and patience as you access the new North Carolina State Unemployment Insurance Tax System (NCSUITS) to file your quarterly report. Commonly asked questions and instructional videos can be found online at: des.nc.gov/ncsuits.

Tax Rate notices were mailed on December 11. Employers can view their tax rate on NCSUITS. It is automatically displayed under ‘Employer Information’ on the main portal screen. You can also view the current and previous years’ tax rates by clicking on the Tax Rate link under the Your Options menu. Then, choose “Tax Rate” tile and select the year that you want to view.

Agents can view clients’ tax rate information by following the steps below.

1. Log into NCSUITS.
2. Click on “Download Center” under the ‘Your Options’ menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
3. Find the “Rate Details” category.
4. Select the year you would like to view.
5. Click “Download Rate Details”.

Sample files for the three NCSUITS-acceptable file formats are online at: des.nc.gov/ncsuits-documents. Use the Validate Wage Files tool to test files before submitting them. The file validation tool is in the Wage Submission section of the Employer portal.
You may receive a log-in error message when trying to access NCSUITS if you have several browser tabs open. If so, close your browser and log-in again.
Reminders:

• Error code explanations by file format type are on the NCSUITS webpage: des.nc.gov/employers/ncsuits/ncsuits-documents
