✨ Business Update ✨

I’m so thankful for all of the support, referrals, and new clients that have helped Alpha Elite Financial continue to grow. I truly appreciate each and every one of you!

To better serve my clients and dedicate more uninterrupted time to behind-the-scenes accounting and tax work, I will be limiting meetings moving forward.

Effective immediately, meetings will be available by appointment on Thursday and Friday mornings only. This change will help me continue providing the best service and turnaround times possible.

Please note: This change does not apply to my current monthly bookkeeping clients. You will continue to have the same access and support you've always had.

COMMON MISCONCEPTION ↓

Your bookkeeping isn't done when you've cleared out all of your uncategorized expenses.

Once everything is entered and categorized in your books, you've got one *crucial* step left...

Reconciling! 🔁

Basically, this step is where you check your work. Reconciling catches mistakes like missing transactions, typos, or duplicates.

When you've reconciled each transaction and have a $0 difference? That's when you're officially done!

If you aren't reconciling, you risk letting mistakes snowball into MUUCH bigger problems.

Trump Accounts are officially going live this July 4th! 🎇

Here's what you need to know before you open one ↓

They're not just for babies!

A Trump account can be established for any eligible individual with a SSN who has not yet turned 18 by the end of the calendar year in which the election was made.

There is a contribution limit!

Parents, grandparents, other relatives, friends, and even the account beneficiary themselves can contribute up to a combined total of $5,000 each year.

Qualifying contributions from the government or nonprofits do NOT count towards this limit.

Parents: this is one of those things you want to make sure you *fully* understand so you don't miss out on any benefits for your kids!

📞 A Quick Reminder About Phone Consultations

As my client base continues to grow, I want to make sure I can provide everyone with the time and attention they deserve.

All phone consultations include 30 minutes at no charge. If our conversation extends beyond 30 minutes, additional time will be billed at my consultation rate of $125 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments. If you are a monthly client on retainer this is a little different.

This applies to tax planning, bookkeeping, accounting questions, business strategy, QuickBooks assistance, and other advisory calls.

Many questions can also be answered quickly by email or text, so if it's something simple, feel free to send me a message first!

The IRS raised the standard mileage rate to a whopping 72.5 cents per mile for business use in 2026.

Here's what that does NOT mean ↓

If you're a entreprenuer who drove your personal car 10,000 miles, you can automatically deduct $7,250 for mileage on your tax return.

Not every mile you drive is deductible! Personal trips and your daily commute to your office generally don't count.

The IRS wants to see your mileage log, including details from each drive, like:

→ the date
→ the business purpose
→ business miles driven (starting point + destination works)

Now, you don't *have* to use the standard mileage rate!

If you want to track all of your vehicle expenses (fuel, maintenance, insurance) and deduct your business-use portion of those, use the actual expense method instead.

You know the vibes when all your transactions are automatically syncing + everything reconciles down to the penny?

Here's how you get there as a small business owner who wants to do their own bookkeeping: ↓

1️⃣ Sync your bank accounts to your bookkeeping software.

2️⃣ For each transaction, double-check that it's categorized correctly. For example, an Amazon order for printer paper would be "Office Supplies", or a Google ad would be "Marketing".

3️⃣ Confirm auto-rules or matched credit card payments are correct before accepting them.

4️⃣ If your sales are being pulled in from your CRM or payment processor, check to make sure nothing is double-counted!

5️⃣ Upload + attach receipts for big/unusual purchases to the appropriate transaction.

6️⃣ Reconcile your accounts to ensure each account matches its source document (like a bank or CC statement).

7️⃣ Run your financial reports and benchmark your performance towards your 2026 goals.
