The highest Hotel Occupancy Taxes when traveling from Grok!

Important notes:

Georgia cities rank high partly because of the statewide $5-per-night hotel-motel fee in addition to percentage taxes.
Texas has a statutory cap of roughly 17% on combined percentage taxes (before certain assessments).
Chicago’s 2026 increase applies mainly to larger hotels in specific downtown and near-downtown ZIP codes.
These are percentage rates on the room charge. Flat fees (common in Georgia, New York City, Memphis, Nashville, Houston) increase the effective rate, especially on cheaper rooms.

K-12 Eligible Educator Expense Deduction under OBBB 2026.

Beginning in 2026, there are a few changes:

1. The Educator Expense Deduction increased to $350.
2. Coaches and sports administrators could be eligible for the Educator Expense Deduction.
3. Qualified educator expenses may be used for itemized deductions.
