One app tells you to save more.
TikTok tells you to raise your prices.
AI tells you to hire.
Your friend says you need an LLC.
Your accountant files your taxes.

And now you have…

A whole slew of financial advice.

None of it is necessarily wrong.

But who’s putting it all together?

Piecemealing your financial strategy can leave you with more information and less clarity.

Your business needs someone who understands the whole picture—not just one transaction, one tax question, or one app.

Because you don't need more ideas.

You need a strategy.

The longer your books stay messy, the more expensive the cleanup becomes.

More transactions.
More mistakes.
More guessing.
More time spent figuring out what happened instead of planning what happens next.

And by the time you finally call an expert, you’re not just paying for bookkeeping.

You’re paying for reconstruction.

Clean books from the start are cheaper than fixing a mess later.

Future you will thank you.

“I know your TikTok CPA said to become an S-Corp and buy a Land Rover…
…but that’s f****** nuts.”

Okay. Maybe not always nuts.

But here’s the problem: How can an “expert” on social media know what makes sense for your business without actually knowing your business?

Your revenue is different.
Your profit is different.
Your cash flow is different.
Your goals are different.

And a tax strategy that makes sense for one business can be a terrible financial decision for another.

This is why I get twitchy when I hear:
“Someone on TikTok said I should…”

Cool.

But does it make sense for YOU?

That’s where having an actual financial advisor in your corner matters.

Because sometimes the answer is yes.

Sometimes the answer is absolutely f****** no.

And you deserve to know which one before you spend the money.

I’m not here to give you tax advice on social media.

But I am here to say this: If “it’s a write-off” is the main reason you’re spending money in your business…

We should probably talk.

A business expense can be legitimate and still be a bad business decision.

The bigger question is: Does this spending actually make sense for the business I’m trying to build?

❓Does it support growth?
❓Does it improve operations?
❓Does it generate a return?
❓Can your cash flow comfortably support it?

That’s where having the right financial support matters.

You shouldn't have to make every financial decision by Googling, asking an app, or hoping someone on the internet has the answer.

A trusted advisor knows your business, understands your goals, and can help you think through the “should I?” before you get stuck with the “well, I already did.”

Because good financial strategy isn't about finding more reasons to spend.

It's about knowing when spending makes sense.

Need someone in your corner for those decisions?

"I don't know if I can afford to hire someone."

That's what he opened with. Not a bookkeeping question. A payroll-sized bet he'd been sitting on for months.

Problem was, he couldn't answer it, because his books couldn't answer it. He had good software. He had an operations system feeding QuickBooks automatically. On paper, a modern setup. But the connection between the two had never been configured correctly, and nobody had checked it since the day it was turned on.
So the data flowed. It just flowed into the wrong places.

Deposits sat undeposited for months. Tax payments landed in accounts they didn't belong in. There was a cash balance on the books nobody in the company could explain. Every report he pulled was technically a report and practically a guess, and he'd been making decisions off them all year.

That's the part most owners don't see coming. Automation doesn't make books correct. It makes them consistent. If the mapping is wrong, you don't get one error; you get the same error four hundred times, quietly, in the background, while you assume everything's fine because the numbers "sync."

So we went upstream first. Fixed the mapping between the two systems. Cleared out what had piled up. Reconciled the liabilities. Rebuilt the chart of accounts around how he actually thinks about his business instead of how the software guessed.

Then, with data we could trust, we answered the real question: here's your monthly break-even. Here's the revenue you need to clear before a $45–55K hire is safe. Here's the handful of numbers to watch so you know month to month whether it's working.

He made the hire. This time with math behind it.

Good systems don't run themselves. They run the direction you point them.

Sometimes it does the opposite.

You Google a question.
Then ask ChatGPT.
Then check your accounting app.
Then download another spreadsheet.
Then read three more articles…

And somehow you’re more confused than when you started.

Because information isn’t always insight.

Your tools can give you pieces of the answer. But someone still needs to understand the bigger picture, connect the dots, and tell you what actually matters for your business.

If you have to ask five different apps what your numbers mean and spend three hours Googling the answer…

You probably need a person.

Not another dashboard.
Not another spreadsheet.

An experienced financial partner who knows your business and can help you decide what to do next.

Why?

Why did revenue change?
Why are margins shrinking?
Why are you hiring?
Why are you pricing it that way?

Good advice starts with understanding the business. Not just reading the spreadsheet.

QuickBooks for bookkeeping.
Stripe for payments.
Expensify for expenses.
A budgeting app for cash flow.
AI for “strategy.”

Now you've got five tools giving you pieces of the picture.

Revenue is up.
Expenses are up.
Profit is down.

Okay… now what?

That’s where expertise matters.

A good financial advisor doesn’t just hand you a report. They help you understand what the numbers are telling you—and what to do about it.

Ready for more than a spreadsheet?
Let’s talk about what your numbers are actually saying. >> https://calendly.com/brodysolutions/assessment-call

That $30K in prepaid packages or custom-order deposits isn't necessarily available to:
❌ Hire someone
❌ Buy equipment
❌ Increase owner pay
❌ Cover unrelated expenses

You have an obligation attached to it.

This is why cash in the bank ≠ money available to spend.

And it's exactly why having clean books and someone who understands the story behind the numbers matters.

Because the question isn't just:
“How much money do I have?”

It's:
“How much of that money is actually mine to use?”

That's the kind of thing your financials should help you understand before you make a decision based on the bank balance.
