This is such a valuable awareness for us guys (but also for women in thinking about the men in your life) as we pursue our Phase Four vision of what we want the rest of our life to look like. Cultivating and strengthening those friendships now will both help you enjoy your life more now, but also make for a richer experience in retirement

Why can't men be more like women in retirement? Men have money, but fewer friends than women. Retirement planning is synonymous with an investment portfolio to ensure financial security, but what of social wellbeing? It’s time men invest in their social portfolio for life after work.

This is a helpful, organized article with good graphics on Inflation that brings up the important point that with personal and business finances (in general) being in a healthier position than other times in the path (both from an employment and balance sheet perspective) that inflation could persist longer as people continue to pay the higher prices. That's a negative for inflation to come down as the Fed continues raising rates.
I do feel like that has started to shift in just the last several weeks, though, as many of us start to more actively consider what we are cutting back on and saying "No" to. I think the ones who come through this the best are those who realize they can't control a national recession, but they can have a lot more impact on whether they go through a personal recession. Good cash flow management is more important than ever.

Encouraging for the long term, but definitely no fun in the moment.

Per Ned Davis Research “Daily volatility is at levels seen only during periods of severe market stress. On April 28, the S&P 500 jumped 2.5%, only to fall 3.6% the next day. The next week, volatility returned, with the S&P 500 jumping 3.0% on May 4 and dropping 3.6% on May 5. Since 1950, consecutive swings of +2% and -3% only occurred in 1987, 2003, 2008-09, 2011, and 2020. Short-term, the volatility has been followed by further weakness, with the S&P 500 falling a median of 7.1% one month later. Longer-term prospects have been better, with the S&P 500 up 100% of the time one year later by a median of 19.6%. For the downtrend to transition to an uptrend, look for lower volatility amid broader rallies.”
