BREAKING NEWS: Most of California has been added to the Federal Disaster Areas list because of the recent flooding, storms, and landslides. Taxpayers living in these areas automatically receive an extension to file your 2022 Tax returns; the new deadline if you live in these areas is now October 16, 2023.

This includes all Tax returns and payments for S-Corps and Partnerships that are due March 15, and all C-Corps, Non-profit organizations, and all estimated tax payments. Check the link below for more information.

Applications for the student loan cancellation will available beginning in October.

Generally, loan forgiveness is taxable income but this loan forgiveness is NOT taxable at the Federal level. Most States will NOT include this loan forgiveness as income but some States will include this amount as taxable unless there’s new legislation.

States including this forgiveness as Taxable Income: Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina

States that may add new legislation to make this forgiveness Non-Taxable Income:
Arkansas, California, Massachusetts, Wisconsin

Stimulus Payment update: For tracking information on stimulus payments, use the following link and click on "Get My Payment" to enter your information to track your second stimulus payment.

If you did not receive your first or second stimulus payment but qualify, you can receive your payment on your 2020 tax return by taking the Recovery Rebate Credit.

Also, President Elect Biden mentioned sending additional stimulus payments for individuals up to $1,400 in his address to the Nation. This needs to be approved by Congress, and if approved, would be processed, approved, and sent roughly in late February.

Use Get My Payment to get information about your payment status and payment type.
