For a long time, I thought taxes, bookkeeping, and financial work were “just work” for me.

But at some point, I realized something deeper.

I genuinely love bringing clarity to situations that feel overwhelming to people.

Helping someone finally understand their numbers.
Helping a business owner feel more in control.
Turning chaos into structure.

That feeling when a person goes from stressed and uncertain…
to calm and confident... that became very meaningful to me.

Becoming an Enrolled Agent wasn’t just another certification or career step.
It felt like I finally found what I’m truly meant to do.

Not because the work is easy (absolutely NOT).
But because it feels right.

And honestly, I’m still learning, growing, and evolving every single day, but now with a very clear sense that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Think your small business is safe because sales are strong? Cash flow can tell a different story. Our latest blog breaks down why profitable businesses still run short on cash.

Cash flow problems can sneak up on any small business, even when sales numbers look strong. It’s a common challenge that many owners face, and it often causes more stress than the actual sales figures suggest. I’ve seen firsthand how confusing it can be to have good sales but still feel like mon...

The IRS reported that millions of children have already been signed up for the new tax-favored “Trump Accounts,” including over 1 million children covered under the pilot program for the $1,000 federal contribution.

Here are a few key points:

- Eligible children born between 2025-2028 may qualify for a $1,000 federal seed contribution
- The election is made using Form 4547 with the tax return
- The account is designed as a long-term savings/investment account for minors
- Contributions from family members and others may also be allowed, subject to annual limits

As always, eligibility requirements and details matter, so it’s important to review the rules carefully before making elections or contributions.

Before you assume you owe taxes on something you sold online…
here’s something important to know...

Selling personal items is generally NOT taxable if you sold them for less than what you originally paid.

Examples:

Bought a couch for $2,000
Sold it for $600
→ not taxable (personal losses are not deductible)

Bought a designer bag for $1,200
Sold it for $1,500
→ $300 taxable gain

Bought a bike for $900
Sold it for $400
→ not taxable

Bought collectible sneakers for $300
Sold them for $850
→ potential taxable gain

Also important:
Receiving a Form 1099-K does NOT automatically mean you owe taxes.

The actual tax treatment depends on:
- what was sold
- original purchase price
- whether there was a gain or loss

This creates a lot of confusion with online marketplaces and payment apps lately.

Somewhere out there exists an actual “Taxpayer Roadmap” explaining the U.S. tax system…

And honestly, the fact that it needs to look like this says a lot.

Most people aren’t stressed because they’re irresponsible.
They’re stressed because the system itself is overwhelming.

Letters. Deadlines. Forms. Notices. Rules that seem to change constantly.

This is also why I always say:
clarity matters more than panic.

One step at a time, things usually become much more manageable than they initially feel 🤍

Trying to transition from:
“deadline mode”
“where is this document”
“one more quick question”
“let me reconcile this first”

…back into normal human life 😅☕✨

Slowly remembering:
- weekends exist
- coffee can be enjoyed warm
- not every email is urgent

Happy Monday 🤍

Did you receive CP53E notice from the IRS?
.."As of March, an estimated 1.4 million taxpayers had received the notice.
..The IRS is aware that some notices may have been sent in error, including when overpayments are scheduled to be applied to 2026 estimated tax or when a balance is due. “Until further guidance is issued, the IRS is not recommending any further action,” the advisory said.

For a taxpayer who doesn’t respond to the notice — and who is due a refund — the IRS said it will issue a paper check after six weeks.

Treasury did not respond to an email seeking comment on CP53E notices."

Taxpayers and practitioners are unsure whether the CP53E notices they have received are scams or simply sent in error, a confusion heightened by the inclusion of a QR code.

I’ve been a little quiet here…

But for a very real reason.

Tax season.

It’s been a very busy one: a lot of client work, a lot of real situations, a lot of learning.

And I actually love that part…
But it does take me off social media for a bit.

Also, during the tax season I received my notary public commission.

Now that things are settling down, I’m back here
and I’ll be sharing more real insights, real situations, and things I see every day in my work.

If you’re still with me, I do appreciate you 🤍
