The rules for the Earned Income Tax Credit change depending on your family situation, but the goal is the same: helping you keep more of what you earn.

If you have children: They must be under 19 (or 24 if a student), have a valid SSN, and live with you for more than half the year.

If you DON'T have children: You can still qualify! You just need to be between ages 25–64 and have lived in the U.S. for more than half the year.
