How do you know when it’s time to move from California to Star, Idaho?
Here’s the part nobody says out loud. You usually know long before you’re ready to admit it.
It doesn’t show up as one big moment. It shows up in small ones. The sigh every time you fill up the tank. The mortgage math you keep redoing on a house you already know you can’t touch. The Saturday plans that turn into two hours of traffic. The way your kids are growing up faster than your life is slowing down.
Then you scroll past a quiet street full of fall color and something in your chest just settles.
That’s not random. That’s the feeling.
I lived in Orange County and Long Beach for 40 years. California raised me. I loved it. And I still felt it. We moved to Star in late 2024, and the hardest part wasn’t packing the house. It was finally admitting the chapter was already over and I was just rereading the last page because I was scared of the next one.
Most people sit in that feeling for years and call it being responsible. Sometimes it is. A lot of the time it’s just fear dressed up as practical.
If this one hit a little too close, you’re not crazy. You’re paying attention.
Follow first. Then comment RELOCATION and I’ll send you my free 84 page Treasure Valley Relocation Guide so you can see what the next chapter actually looks like before you turn the page.
