The honeymoon phase is over. Here’s the uncomfortable truth nobody tells you about moving from California to Idaho.
We sold the house. Left the palm trees. Left the traffic. For a while it felt like a vacation.
That part’s over now.
The slow pace isn’t relaxing, it’s a gut check. You stop performing busy and you’re left with whatever’s actually going on in your life.
More space means more truth. Not more square footage, more room to see how your family actually lives. Zillow won’t show you that. I will.
I thought my kids would grieve Disneyland. They didn’t. Less structure, more outside, more kid, less schedule.
The adjustment period is real and it’s not soft. Things close early. Seasons hit different. Culture shock is real, especially coming from Orange County. I’d rather tell you now than let you find out alone.
The honeymoon phase didn’t end in regret. It ended in clarity.
We loved California. That’s not up for debate. But Idaho is ours now.
I’m not going to sit here and tell you Idaho is magic. It’s not. But if you’re actually trying to figure out whether the Boise area fits your family, not just your budget, that’s what I’m here for.
