Roth 401(k): Là chương trình hưu trí do công ty anh chị đang làm việc cung cấp.

1️⃣ Most people aren't afraid of paying taxes; they are afraid of what they don't understand.
Once our clients at QN see exactly what the numbers mean and why they owe a certain amount, the anxiety usually disappears. The better you understand the rules, the more control you have.

2️⃣ The most effective and legal way to save on taxes is planning early.
Most people wait until tax season (March or April) to start scrambling for documents. But the clients who keep the most money in their pockets are the ones who sit down with the QN trusted team to strategize in October of the previous year.

3️⃣ There is no one-size-fits-all formula in finance.
Even if two business owners have the exact same revenue, their tax strategies will look completely different depending on their family goals, investments, and personal circumstances.

4️⃣ The fear of an audit shouldn't stop you from claiming legitimate deductions.
So many people miss out on their rightful tax benefits simply because they are intimidated by the IRS. Understanding the law to maximize your deductions is the smart way to operate. The real risk is the fear that comes from a lack of information.

5️⃣ It’s not about how much you make; it’s about how much you actually keep.
Without a solid strategy, your hard-earned money will easily slip away through unnecessary taxes and fees. Our team at QN has seen this happen with tax returns showing $50,000 in income, all the way up to $500,000 a year.

6️⃣ Mixing personal and business funds is an incredibly expensive mistake.
Not only does it create a bookkeeping nightmare during tax season, but more importantly, it can shatter the legal liability protection that your LLC provides for your personal assets.

7️⃣ Owning a business doesn't mean you can deduct everything.
"Ordinary and necessary" is the IRS gold standard. Every expense needs to be reasonable and directly tied to your business operations to ensure your books are clean and transparent.

8️⃣ Cash flow is more important than paper profit.
QN has worked with plenty of businesses that show high profits on paper, yet the owners struggle to pay their monthly bills. A business that is profitable on a tax return isn't always financially healthy in reality.

9️⃣ Audits don't just happen out of nowhere; there are always specific triggers.
Claiming unusually high home office expenses compared to your income, writing off disproportionate deductions, or reporting income that doesn't match your 1099s... the IRS has algorithms designed to flag these exact things. Your tax return needs to tell a logical, transparent financial story.

🔟 Financial stability doesn't start with a massive income; it starts with small, consistent habits.
Tracking expenses clearly, reviewing the books every month, building an emergency fund... These small and seemingly boring tasks are actually the strongest foundation for personal and business financial freedom.

👉 Building a solid financial foundation isn't difficult when you have the right advisory partner. Don't wait until the last minute of tax season to start gathering documents and stressing out. Let the QN Financial Network team help you review your books, build a tax strategy, and protect your wealth starting today.

The truth is: The IRS doesn’t have to take you to court to get their tax money back.

Once a debt is assessed and they send a demand for payment, they have incredibly broad collection powers. Without waiting for a judge's permission, the IRS has the right to:
🔴 Freeze your bank accounts
🔴 Garnish your wages and income
🔴 Seize your property
🔴 Even withhold your future Social Security benefits.

Here is how the IRS collection process usually works:

Step 1: Assessing the debt and sending the first notice
The IRS logs the balance due and sends a demand for payment. This is your first warning. The biggest mistake most people make is skimming it or ignoring it completely.

Step 2: The final ultimatum before a freeze
If they don't hear from you, the IRS will send a "Final Notice of Intent to Levy." This is their last official warning. You have exactly 30 days to request a Collection Due Process hearing to stop the levy.

Step 3: Enforcing the freeze
If you miss that 30-day window, the IRS can freeze your bank account and pull the funds directly. They can take your entire available balance up to the amount you owe, without giving you any further notice.

The situation can quickly snowball because:

🔴 Penalties compound daily from the original tax deadline.
🔴 Interest constantly accrues on both the original tax debt and the penalties.
🔴 The IRS can file a federal Tax Lien, which damages your credit and sticks to your record for years.
🔴 Collection liabilities can bleed into your personal assets, even if you run your business under an LLC.

If you receive a letter from the IRS, the QN team recommends doing this immediately:

✅ Open the letter right away: Every IRS notice has a specific response deadline.
✅ Check your IRS records: Know exactly what information the tax agency actually has on you.
✅ Respond before the deadline: Even if you can't afford to pay the full amount right now, you MUST communicate with them.
✅ Don't stay silent: Ignoring it or hoping the IRS will just "forget" about you is a terrible strategy. Your file won't magically disappear.

The IRS holds more power than any other creditor. But the good news is, they also offer tax resolution programs: Installment Agreements, Offers in Compromise, or Currently Not Collectible status due to financial hardship.

All of these programs can stop a bank levy in its tracks - provided you take the initiative to handle it. Don't wait until your account is already frozen to figure it out, because by then, your options are severely limited.

👉 If you are getting letters from the IRS or need to review your files to protect both your business and personal assets, let the trusted QN team help you find the safest resolution strategy.

Anh chị đang phân vân giữa việc dùng chương trình hỗ trợ trả trước (Down Payment Assistance) hay chọn mức lãi suất thấp hơn?

10/20/2026

First-time buyers just hit a record low of 21% of the market.

If you're one of them, the first 30 days in that house matter more than the 30 years of payments.

Before 2008, first-time buyers made up about 40% of all sales. Now the typical first-timer is 40 years old and putting 10% down, the highest since 1989.

You fought hard for those keys, so here's what our team at QN tells clients to do with them.

1. Set up your utilities before closing.
Nothing kills the excitement like walking into your new house with no power, no water, and no Wi-Fi.

2. Change the locks on closing day.
You have no idea how many keys the previous owner handed out to contractors, dog walkers, and exes. Rekeying is cheap compared to finding out the hard way.

3. Set reminders for trash and recycling that first night.
Missing pickup in week one means a garage that smells like a landfill by week two.

4. Find the shutoff valves for your water main and gas the very next day.
When a pipe bursts at 2 a.m., you don't want to be googling where the valve is while water pours through the ceiling.

5. If you're painting and replacing floors, paint FIRST.
Paint drips on old carpet you're ripping out anyway, and you avoid ruining brand-new floors.

6. Deep clean while the house is still empty.
Cleaning around a couch and 40 boxes takes three times as long.

7. Buy a fire extinguisher before you move in, and put one in the kitchen at minimum.

8. Then, start a binder or digital folder for every repair, warranty, and upgrade.
From a tax perspective, this is the one most people skip, and it's the one that can save you real money.

Every capital improvement you make, like a new roof, a remodel, or an addition, can raise your cost basis and lower the taxable gain when you eventually sell.

Single filers can exclude up to $250,000 of gain and married couples up to $500,000, but in a hot market those limits get hit faster than people think.

Homeowners are now staying a record 11 years before selling.
That's a lot of receipts to lose if you don't start tracking them in week one.

Take 2 minutes to check your W-2 before handing it to your tax preparer!

Tax season is here, and many people just pass their W-2 straight to their tax preparer without a second glance. But your W-2 is the summary of your entire year’s income, and a tiny mistake can cause the IRS to reject your return.

The QN team highly recommends taking just 2 minutes to verify these 4 crucial details:

1️⃣ Name and Social Security Number (SSN): These must match exactly. If even one digit is off, the IRS cannot process your file.

2️⃣ Compare it to your final Paystub: Pull up your last paystub of the year, look at the Year-to-Date (YTD) column, and compare it to Box 1 and Box 2 on your W-2. The numbers should match up.

3️⃣ Check Box 4 (If you work multiple jobs): Add up Box 4 from all your W-2s to ensure you haven't overpaid the maximum Social Security tax limit.

4️⃣ Always ask for a W-2C if there’s an error: If something looks wrong, contact your HR department immediately and request a W-2C (a corrected W-2). Never just adjust the numbers on your tax return without the official W-2C form.

💡 A quick guide to decoding your W-2:

* Box 1 & Box 2 (Income Tax): This determines whether you will get a Refund or owe more taxes.
* Box 3 through Box 6 (Social Security & Medicare): These are fixed, mandatory deductions.
* Box 12: Shows how much you saved in your 401(k), health insurance premiums, etc.
* The bottom section: State Tax information.

👉 At QN, we always tell our clients: When you understand your taxes, you make better decisions with your money. Your W-2 is just the summary; the tax strategy behind it is what helps you keep more of your wealth.

Need an expert to review your files and optimize your tax strategy this season? Let the QN Financial Network team help!

Not all debt is the same.

The question isn’t “Do I have debt?”
It’s “What is this debt doing for me?”

A mortgage on a property you’ve carefully researched is one thing. Carrying a balance to cover a lifestyle you haven’t paid for yet is another.

Here’s what that means if you’re planning to buy a home in today’s economy.

Having a car loan, a line of credit, or a credit card balance doesn’t automatically take homeownership off the table. But it does change the math.

Lenders look at your income, credit, down payment, and monthly obligations. Every payment you carry can reduce how much they’ll approve. At today’s prices, even a small monthly payment can impact your buying power more than you’d expect.

So before you start touring open houses, the QN team always suggests answering these 3 questions:
1️⃣ What are my monthly obligations right now?
2️⃣ What loan amount can I realistically qualify for?
3️⃣ Is that a monthly payment I’m actually comfortable making?

The goal isn’t to have zero debt. It’s about making your debt work as a tool toward your actual financial plan.

👉 Don't look at listings before you know your numbers. Let the specialized team at QN Financial Network evaluate your profile so you can step into the market with confidence.

10/16/2026

A lot of our clients at QN often ask us: "Are a Roth 401(k) and a Roth IRA the same thing?"

The short answer is: Not exactly!

Both are fantastic retirement tools because they use "after-tax money." This means you pay taxes on that money now, so when you withdraw it in retirement, it is 100% tax-free (as long as you meet IRS rules).

However, there are 3 major differences in how these accounts work that you need to understand:

1️⃣ Where the account comes from

- Roth 401(k): This is an employer-sponsored retirement plan offered by the company you work for.
- Roth IRA: This is an individual account you open on your own (at a bank or a brokerage firm).

2️⃣ Contribution Limits (For 2026)

- Roth 401(k): Allows you to put away much more, up to $24,500/year.
- Roth IRA: Maxes out at just $7,500/year.
(Note: Both of these limits do not include "catch-up" contributions for older individuals).

3️⃣ Income Limits - The most confusing part

- Roth 401(k): It doesn't matter how high your income is; the IRS sets no income limits for you to participate.
- Roth IRA: This one is restricted by your income. In 2026, if you file as Single and make $168,000 or more, or Married Filing Jointly making $252,000 or more, you are not allowed to contribute directly to a Roth IRA.

👉 QN Pro Tip: If your income exceeds these thresholds, don't give up just yet. You can still use a strategy called a Backdoor Roth IRA to legally move money into the account.

💡 The Optimal Strategy: Don't mistake a Roth 401(k) and a Roth IRA for the same thing. If their finances allow, many QN clients choose to contribute to BOTH to maximize their tax-free retirement savings.

Are you a high earner (W-2 or Business owner) wondering which account you should prioritize, or how to properly execute a "Backdoor Roth" without getting penalized by the IRS?
