Today topic is Solar credits. Beware of Solar Salesman telling you will recieve the Federal Solar tax credit when in fact most don’t even qualify. If you are considering Solar I highly recommend you reach out to your tax professional and hopefully they can determine is you qualify to recieve for a Solar tax credit. FYI tax credits are taken in order. First credit is if you have dependents then it is the child tax credit then if you have dependents going to college then the education credit is next. Whatever tax liability left over, if any can be taken for solar tax credit. The tax credit can be recouped over five years. So with these credits, most people cannot take the opportunity for solar credits. Need more information IM me.

Fox 10 should have explained a bit more. The standard deduction doubled this year that offsets those deductions so it is better for the average American filing this year. Boy how the news can skew things. Message me here on Facebook if you’d like me to send you the exact deductions and how they can benefit the average American.

As Americans get ready for the upcoming tax season, sweeping changes are going to affect how individuals and families file this year — including which deductions and credits they can claim.

Here are a few things to know if the IRS sends a letter. This came from an IRS advisory tip.

The IRS mails millions of letters to taxpayers every year for many reasons. Here are seven simple suggestions on how individuals can handle a letter or notice from the IRS:

1. Don’t panic. Simply responding will take care of most IRS letters and notices.

2. Read the entire letter carefully. Most letters deal with a specific issue and provide specific instructions on what to do.

3. Compare it with the tax return.

4. Only reply if necessary.

5. Respond timely. Taxpayers should respond to a letter with which they do not agree. They should mail a letter explaining why they disagree.

6. Don’t call. For most letters, there is no need to call the IRS or make an appointment at a taxpayer assistance center.

7. Keep the letter. A taxpayer should keep copies of any IRS letters or notices received with their tax records.

Anytime during this process if you are not sure of what the IRS wants them give me a call.

Hello tax payers. Beware of scams where people are calling you posing to be the IRS. The IRS will not call you. They contact you by mail. They may ask you to call them. When these people call they threaten that if you do not pay them they will send the police. Just ignore the call.
