I have been asked many times about West Virginia's Motor Vehicle Credit. The deadline to pay your vehicle taxes in order to get the MV-1 Credit is September 30, 2026. It is well worth it to pay those taxes on time. We all could use some extra money, right?

UPDATE: I would encourage you to pay the entire bill by September 30th.

The IRS business mileage rate is set for 2026: January-June 72.5 cents per mile; July- December 76 cents per mile.

Good afternoon! I wanted to let you know that we are in a transition period. We moved our tax business to our new residence: 694 Buckeye Run Road, Salem WV 26426 (near Parc's Tractor Supply). The phone number, 304-873-1722, is not in service currently, due to the fact that we are moving it to our new home. We will be setting it up this week with Verizon, and it will be working within the next few days. Some may get a call from my cell phone, 614-917-7561 in the mean time, until the transition is complete. Our business will now all be at the Salem address. Thanks for your patience. We love our clients, and are happy to help you. I know I have gotten some of Mr. Robinson's clients, but be assured, we want to keep what we have locally. Have a blessed day!

The IRS has announced their opening day to accept tax returns: January 26, 2026. The following are my fees for the coming tax year:

Single, No Dependents-$80.00
Head of Household-$100.00
Married, Filing Jointly-$110.00
Personal Business-$135.00
Non-1040 Series Business-Various

*Additional fees may apply due to the complexity of the return.
*$10.00 fee for additional copies of the return, which are typically used to send to banks and attorneys.

You may call at 304-873-1722 to make an appointment, which is highly recommended. The tax office will remain in Smithburg, which has been the case for the past 12 years.
