Reminder from the IRS to get those QCDs in before the end of the year. If you are 73 or older, a QCD can replace an RMD.

IR-2024-289, Nov. 14, 2024 — The Internal Revenue Service reminds individual retirement arrangement (IRA) owners age 70½ and older that they can make up to $105,000 in tax-free charitable donations during 2024 through qualified charitable distributions. That’s up from $100,000 in past years.

Kanawha County residents have an automatic extension to file and pay 2023 individual tax returns until June 17. If you don't think you can file by then, you should request an extension prior to April 15.

We shall see if any relief is granted for this week's mess.
