Attention Seniors!

Senior Citizen Property Tax Relief Program applications are available now. Applications must be returned by April 30, 2026.

👉 Seniors who are 65 or older may apply.
👉 To be eligible, you must have qualified to receive a tax credit under the Maine Property Tax Fairness Credit program.
👉 You must include a copy of your 2025 State Tax Return (1040ME) and Schedule PTFC with your application.
👉 Applications may be dropped in the secure drop boxes by the front and rear door of City Hall.
👉 You must apply every year.
👉 Applications were recently mailed to anyone who qualified last year and those who inquired about the program.
👉 Visit the Tax Relief Programs webpage (southportland.gov/taxrelief)to access the online version of the application and get more information. Paper applications are also available in the Treasury office at City Hall.
