Over the years, some of the S&P 500's more memorable pullbacks have occurred in August, as well as the next couple of months to follow. 2026 has brought a heightened amount of volatility to the U.S. economy from events at home and abroad. Midterm elections on the horizon will elevate price movements even further.

General Motors reported $3.9 billion in profits from April to June, up nearly $1 billion from the same time last year. Much of the increase was due to reduced impact from EV losses and more production to U.S. plants. This led to managing expenses more effectively, and thus a higher margin on vehicle sales.

While this recent news is strong for GM, it is still important for its employees to understand how results of the business can influence future compensation, retirement savings, and long-term financial opportunities.

Grateful to have been a part of another successful Regeneration Foundation Golf Outing this past weekend at Tanglewood! The goal of the Foundation is to strengthen health and quality of life to those in need by providing physical training, mental wellness coaching, and the support and accountability to create long lasting change. Hearing firsthand stories from individuals whose lives have been impacted was a powerful reminder of the difference the Foundation continues to make.
