Campbell, Higgins & Mummert, P.C. is looking to add a Staff Accountant to join our team. This role can range from an individual looking for an entry-level position to an accomplished Certified Public Accountant.
Key Responsibilities
• Become familiar with firm policies and procedures
• Tax - Assist with the preparation of individual, business, and trust tax returns
• Attest - Assist with the preparation of prepared, compiled, and reviewed financial statements
• Bookkeeping - Assist with client bookkeeping which may include posting journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, filing sales tax reports, and more
• Payroll - Assist with client payroll processing including check writing, scheduling payroll tax payments, and filing quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
Skills and Qualifications
A Staff Accountant is expected to have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. While a CPA license is not required for this role, it is preferred that an applicant eithers holds the license or is eligible and willing to become licensed. Work experience can vary from no prior experience for new graduates to several years of work within the accounting field.
Software skills should include Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint along with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), and other professional software.
Communication must be effective whether verbal, written, or electronic.
